"This jerk"...hilarious. I was considered a jerk for asking a question because I was new. This is the type of person Skip is, everyone.

When throving accucations around a link to post in question would be nice, I seriously doubt it was that bad.

Seriously? You've been on the forums for less than six months. I've been here for three years.

Also, if you'd read my post, you'd see that I said back at Intervocative. Kinda hard to link to a site that doesn't exist.

dvdjon, I'm not trying to get caught up in this war but I wanted to help with the explanation time with product / in form.

March 13th 07 is when most of our accounts were created when we moved to invelos.  If you notice, a lot of us have dated in mid March.  chibul (abrg923) was also very active in the old forum.

I think the forums should be disabled for a week except for the tech support.  That'll give time for the threads that have no real constructive usage to be locked or deleted and for everyone to reboot and get past it.

Unfortunately, I don't think the benefit would last more than a few days.

What it boils down to - if you can't say something nice....

Ya know, one email group I used to be in had a rather effective means for curbing flames.  Every time someone gets upset and starts flaming the group, she would post different recipes for Spice Cake. Flames stopped.

The Intervocative forum started the 18 august 2004 and Doug has the first post on it. Before that another forum was used, but I've never seen it.

Like Ron say don't trust the date since the majority of the older user had a midle march date of registration. By exemple even if mine is 15/03/07, my real one is 18/09/06.

By the way does this older board exist somewhere?

Yup and I upgraded late because I kindof let dvdp slide (because of a total whipe of my db, oh man was i majorly pissed   hehehehehe) for a while. Actually my very first post was about this.
The reason I have not posted much here before is because I have recently started to enjoy the odd contribution and discussion here.

I started back in 2001 i think( although it may be later but not much).

I know, I'll send everybody a Christmas present. I have a 25 year old Claxton Fruit Cake, not sure but it may have been 20 years old when I got it. I'll send everybody a piece. For those of you unfamiliar with Fruit Cakes and their jokes...wait for it.

Pursue away, this is the problem you are obsessed with Skip and bash Skip is a blood sport. Why don't ALL of you worry about yourselves and and your own absolutely disgusting behavior, Stuart, Surfeur, Hal and others. You are truly pathetic. The behavior of you people is absolutely abominable.

You are also dead wrong Surfeur in presuming to Know what I want. What I want is for you to stop your incessant whining.

Skip

Ken, you condone this type of behavior?

He must. The only thing he has ever done is go back and edit post and/or lock threads.

As Skip proudly writes in his PMs "Ken has not asked me to tone it down, so why should I".

Ah another one of the attack meisters heard from. IF you are going to quote me, do so correctly, Paul. I have never said any such thing. That is your interpretation and you would be wrong on all counts. LOOK TO YOUR OWN BEHAVIOR.

I know your mother taught you better.

That was when the General Discussion board was opened. I forget when Ken rolled out his own forum software code, before that it was BBCode or some derivative.

Not that I know of, unless someone backed it up to disk somewhere. All the older messages were moved over and are still there.

Hi Skip! Nice to see things haven't changed all that much around here.

Hiya, dekorsey, nice to see you again. I have painful memories of our old blackboard.       I joined up originally in April 2000. And took my share of newbie abuse, I might add.

If I recall correctly we moved from the old blackboard forum to this style in 2004.

Actually, I don't have much of problem with this. It's not very nice, but it appears to be said in anger rather than calculated malice or for fun, and I've got a lot more sympathy for it because of that. Several of the words he uses are reflections of one's he's seen directed at him over the last couple of days. I'm far more concerned with deliberately trying to get at someone (e.g. 'attack meisters', embolded to add a more venomous meaning to the words) or pleasure derived from trying to make someone feel bad (such as some of my examples).

It's my two posts on page 4 that seem to have triggered the response from Skip (given his post prior to these was lacking in any venom at all), but my 'novel' was an attempt to make a reasoned argument based upon full evidence, for which Skip (or others) could acknowledge or give reasons for their invalidity as a defense. I was trying to avoid "You reap what you sow - this is why you are almost universally disliked on this forum" that often get dismissed as hate peddling, as it's unqualified.

What I was trying to find out was why the 'two-way-street' Skips says we should live by was not applicable to these specific cases in which he was involved. My reason for chasing it is because I've seen nothing to back up Skip's claims of his fairness and I want to see something that does counter my own observations of him. I was quite careful to make sure that I was always saying "I think..." in the hope Skip would try and counter these as personal observations. I was hoping to either give Skip a defense he could use against genuinely unbased attacks, or to get him to acknowledge that there are occasions, such as these clear examples, where he got it wrong, thereby demonstrating some compliance with the 'two-way-street' philosophy.

Unfortunately, I got the brush-off instead and it got cited as 'discusing etc.' I know I'm biased, but I don't think that there's anything too bad in there.

Isn't that exactly what Surfeur accused you of - attempting to prevent a discussion?

Anyway, I've not yet seen anyone telling me I'm wrong in what I'm doing (except fro Skip of course), so I'll wait a little longer.

Are you Ken?
"I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question:
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose…
Rapture."
