Did you install V1.5 of FauxAPI? It is the plugin. CCCreator will not show up there. You should have seen a message that it was found and installed. Then look on the Tools menu.

I think I have fixed the problem.
- Download and install DVDPFauxAPI V1.5
- Copy the latest CCCreator.dll into the subplugins folder

Actually, I don't think I could do that, since Magmadrag cannot produce a complete export file. Not sure how to do that without the export file.

Now it seems I am also having problems. Looks like its going to be one of those days. 
Meanwhile, Gunnar is always adding more stuff to BY Check. Nothing stops him from implementing your algorithm to build a dummy profile and use HTTPJolie to install it in the database. If you also can't run HTTPJolie, then BulkEdit can create the profile from XML. So we have good options if I can't resolve the DVDPFauxAPI installtion. All of a sudden it doesn't deliver "COM Interop".
I'm nervous about opening up old plugins now, in case Microsoft is the culprit. So I am not touching HTTPJolie or BulkEdit until I figure out what is going on. | Posted: Topic Replies: 168, Topic Views: 10431 |

| Sorry. I tried to avoid confusion with the video. The subplugins folder should be "on the same layer as Plugins" with the dll inside the folder. I think I understand your point. But it seems to me that giving you the picture that is available gives you the chance to verify whether it is in fact the correct person. But if when you play with the program, you still feel the same way, or get another idea (multiple pictures?), I will try to make changes.
Refreshing the grids is manual. It is done whenever you run the menus, not on startup. You can choose to keep the old dummy profiles or not. Up to you. My feeling was that in this early stage, we need to keep stuff around for debugging purposes in case something goes wrong when I am updating the program. Ok, here is the unfinished code that I'm sure still have plenty of bugs. It does write stuff to the database, so of course you absolutely have backups in place.
Everything is here.
(1) First install DVDPFauxAPI 1.4
(2) Then create folder "SubPlugins" right next to the "Plugins" folder in the DVD Profiler execution path
(3) Copy CCCreator.dll into the SubPlugins folder
Start DVD Profiler and you should see messages saying that the sub plugin was found and loaded. Then run the menu Tools>Create Cast and Crew

I will mostly make changes to the program and do what you tell me makes sense. I finally have something kind of stable. I just don't know whether it is useful for anything. There are still some ideas I have, and there is no documentation yet.
But before i spend a lot more time on it, I will make a video (tomorrow) and walk through it to give you an idea. If I am on the right track, I will continue, and if you want this preliminary version, you can have it.

I will be releasing a preview video soon. Well, so far the RecordScanner app has failed to identify only a couple of the 300 or so albums I have done so far. So, no need to scan convers (other than a 2 sec cellphone scan to power the search) or do any typing. I usually have multiple cover images to pick from the Discogs library, and all the metadata comes over. Most of the folk, rock, jazz, blues, and R&B - i.e., non-classical albums are found directly on Spotify. No need even for digitizing, since the source material is identical.
In the case of classical, I very often get close cousins to my albums, but at this stage of my life, I am happy to just be able to listen to my favorites and recall my life and times when I first discovered that music and was listening to it more frequently.

I also recently joined the party. Cleaned up and adjusted my Dual turntable and fitted a new cartridge. Volume was low, but my receiver had a setting to compensate. Next step was to prioritize my 600 disc collection for transfer to digital, using Audacity.
Then I discovered "RecordScanner" app for my iPhone. Amazing. It can scan by barcode, label ID, or cover image, or search by keyword or Discogs ID. So far, after about 400 discs, there has been only a couple I could not find.
It is the Profiler for analog media (Vinyl / Cassette). You get a mobile database and a website, and a Discogs estimate of the value of each disc and collection as a whole. Items are put onto shelves by category. Really cool app.
Bonus, there is a button in the app that links to playing the closest match on Spotify. Most albums that have been commercially digitized come up readily. Best for popular non-classical. For classical, you often get a close match to the track contents, albeit with different artists / album. Still super fun. I haven't touched the turntable since. What a trip back in time I have been having, listening to Spotify as I scan and catalog my collection.
