| Posted: | | | | I can't describe it another way as it simply looks to be nothing else than that. Why and how this happens, I don't know. As I list all my discs additionally in Excel, I always have a list to compare the numbers. As the difference between Excel and profiler became bigger and bigger, I started to compare both. On this way meanwhile I found 3 profiles with simply "disappeared" in my profiler and this must have happened at least half a year ago as they aren't in my oldest update anymore. I hope not to find more of them lost but I would like to have any suggestion how I could avoid this for the future. Actually it is a horrible job to compare both lists with more than 15.000 discs. |

| Posted: | | | | Also you might want to check if some of the titles somehow are just missing a collection number.
I keep a lot of Child profiles "blank" with no collection number assigned for instance. It's possible some profiles even got set that way by accident somehow in your collection. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I have all the child-profiles without a number. After being through the whole check, 3 profiles were missing but therefore 3 others I deleted years ago were still part of it. And the most fascinating thing for me: One DVD I own with "that UPC" was part of my collection, but with a totally different UPC. In theory you might say that I didn't find it at that point of time and used a similar version, but I disagree as my standard is: If there is no profile so far, I create one.... I only hope that after three days of check and compare there won't be losses and "re-appearances" like those again. |

| Posted: | | | | I'd just keep 2 or 3 backups located in a couple places and I am almost sure that you can compare them. Someone else might know more than myself. That way if a glitch happens, you still have a copy you can go back to so it's not a total do-over where you don't know if your backup is complete or not, if that makes sense. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I had and still have several backups, but the only one I am sure that it is correct is the one after that huge control. I saw the difference between profiler and excel quite a while ago but simply didn't have time for this check. So I even can't say when those problems happened. But as soon as the numbers between both lists change I know I did something wrong or something else happened |

| Posted: | | | | When I was doing a physical alphabetical check of my collection with the software, there are missing profiles in the software that I had entered years ago. Where are they? This is frustrating when Im looking to pick a movie to watch and some are not showing in the software.
I have also found that they are still in the database and come up when I do a search, but seem to disappear in my list. They come and go its kinda random. I found this out when I printed a report list to do an inventory and a small percentage of the disk did not show up on my list. This is also true when they are listed in the profiles both on phone and computer. When I do a search for a missing BD or DVD that I know I have, it then shows up in the software and pops into the list, bumping another disk off the viewed list in the software.??????
Please fix this glitch or I might have to find other more reliable software. I have 2000 movies and just put them all in order and wanted to do a real inventory from the software. Larry | | | Last edited: by pastorlarry777 |

Have you checked their sort title? When they appear upon search but "disappear" in the list, it strongly sounds like you're looking in the wrong place. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
