Running DVDPro 3.9.1 Build 1657
DVDPro for Android 1.2.4 Build 65

Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0

Connecting to PC via WiFi.

Library entries sync fine across the network, but when it comes to downloading covers to the phone, the process just hangs with no progress showing on the progress bar.  I've uninstalled & reinstalled the Android App and created a new library (saving to the memory card rather than internal memory), but still the problem persists.

Anyone else found and/or cured this problem?

It really takes a long time to copy the files.
My Collection got about 3600 entries. That is about 2GB of pictures. Downloading them for the first time took me about 5 hours and the progress bar was really slow.

Another piece of info is to not do other stuff on your computer while it's downloading. Leave DVDP running and update the database on your phone while you go to dinner or bed. Once it's finished the first time, it usually doesn't take very much time after that.

Thanks guys, but...

The problem is relatively recent - up to this point, the images have copied over fine.  Then suddenly they have stopped. I've tried leaving it for several hours, but no progress at all.  I've just today upgraded to a new phone (Galaxy S6 Edge), and the same problem is present which suggests its a problem with the app rather than the phone.

Could this be SD-Card-Permission related? There we're versions of Android where google changed how apps can access sd-cards. Could you try storing your database on internal memory (you might change image size to the smallest setting with no backcovers to save some space).

Also there seems to be a newer version, since i have Version 1.2.5 Build 66 installed (i am in the beta programm, so this might be a beta-version)

Make sure you have a decent SD card.

Interesting suggestion about the internal vs external storage,  but DVDP was installed to save to external and worked fine, then just stopped syncing covers - no change to the installation or the OS prior to this problem.

Anyway, I have now shifted to a Galaxy S6 Edge, which has no SD card as it's internal storage only, and the problem continues on a fresh install with a fresh dB.

I've been fighting this since the first Android version came out. The easiest thing to do is when you start to sync, go into the Options and change the size of the pictures. I toggle between medium and large each time. It asks to update images because the size has changed, say yes and it happily copies all the images. Don't have to do this on my wife's iPhone, so it is an Android version problem. Currently running on a stock, rooted, Nexus 6.

I've been having this problem on my Galaxy S6 (no SD card). This worked for me; thanks for the tip!
