| Posted: | | | | currently we can only have one wishlist - the default... despite the fact that we can have custom categories and collections.
I currently keep 3 wishlists... regular, blind (never saw it theaters but think i will like), and steelbook (imports, rare stuff, too confusing for my mom to try to find)...
I can change the logo and name to make it work, but I can not prioritize, and more importantly, when I buy one, there is no personalization prompt... the program thinks I already owned everything on those extra lists.
Please make this happen for next version - i would be very grateful.
thanks ken! | | | -JoN |

| Posted: | | | | You can differentiate very easily using tags. There is no need (IMO) for multiple wishlists.

| Posted: | | | | tags are fine for me... but a wishlist isnt always for me...
I can't expect my mom or sister to figure out the tag system... my poor mom will either be looking all over for some rare steelbook that isnt sold in the states wondering why she cant find it, or Im getting a regular version easy to find here that is not right at all...
best to keep them separate as possible.
also, by your logic we don't need custom collections or collection types either... in fact every single thing could theoretically be replaced / worked around with tags... that doesnt mean features shouldnt be added.
the tag system is great because it's custom... but we still need program enhancements - tags are too much work for many tasks and should instead be used as a last resort or their intended purpose only.
in my current case, my workaround (and subsequent feature loss) of having 2 other wishlists as custom collections, is better than using the tag system. | | | -JoN | | | Last edited: by ruineddaydreams |

That's odd. When I move something from a custom list to Owned I always get the prompt. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I have no interest in this personally, but I don't see why any custom collection shouldn't be allowed of the wishlist kind.
I also don't see real technical limitations that would really hinder Ken from implmenting it in the next version (if there's ever going to be one, that is). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

When you defined those categories, did you check the checkbox "Include contents in owned collection"? If so, uncheck it and see if that fixes your problem. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

That's odd. When I move something from a custom list to Owned I always get the prompt. So thanks to iPatsa and GSyren i messed with the collection settings... I found that if i check the "purchase data" box... I can get the prompt to personalize to come up when moving from the custom list to the owned list. this is a huge improvement in fuction to to me, as i was previously moving from custom to wishlist to owned or moving directly to owned and backtracking to personalize. THANK YOU! The offside to this is the prompt also comes up when adding to those lists... leaving it blank works so it's no so bad. I would still stand by my requests to be able to make custom wishlists so I can prioritize on them | | | -JoN |
