| Posted: | | | | Problem: Since many TV-Shows are sometimes treated as boxsets with several child-profiles the CLT counter gets messed up. Example: A TV-Show box with 6 discs is supposed to count as 1 title (per season), but, if entered as boxset, will in fact count as seven (1 parent, 6 children)
Suggested Solution: CLT gets modified to not count Disc-ID profiles anymore. This will remove several movie-boxsets from the counter too. But this shouldn't affect the CLT-results too much, since I'm not aware of many titles that only got published as part of boxset.
Ideas? Improvements to this proposal? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I completely disagree... I have movie box sets where the films are only available on DVD in the box set.. so with your suggestion these cases there would be titles that don't show up in the CLT at all. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Also not all DVDs come with a UPC and we must use the disc id as the only way to profile them. By exemple most of the new release from Code Red doesn't have one since Bill distribute his label releases without a distributor.
I understand that TV show is a problem, but disc id profile can't be remove from the CLT list for the reasons Pete and I wrote. |

| Posted: | | | | I have no idea how these things work, but could it be limited to just disc ids of TV shows? With the TV rating or TV in the genre? | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | another problem... I have several TV series sets where there is cast and crew in the child profiles, but not in the parent profile. While I know it is allowed in the parent profile... that don't mean people have contributed the info to the parent profile as well. So we would loose some valuable info that way as well. | | | Pete |

I'm aware of many such titles, so I don't like your suggestion. I'm rather hoping that the CLT will instead become obsolete. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | The problem is that it was never really made clear how TV actors are supposed to be counted.
If an actor stars in 5 seasons of a show, appearing in 110 episodes, how can that be less important than his 6 appearances in a supporting role in summer movies? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

While there is a standard way of doing it for most of the forum members here... there has never been anything official on how to count credits for TV series stars/regulars. Per season, per profile, per episode... Invelos never commented on how it should be done. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I have many of all the instances mentioned. Beside I have a DVD, maybe more, that the UPC is shared with a different DVD and the only way to enter it is by disc ID, if not by manual.
