| Posted: | | | | When I first purchased DVD profiler, some years ago, I'm sure the ability to use a barcode scanner to input your movies was available. Can anyone confirm that this feature did exist? I now have a Droid with a nifty barcode scanning app. It would be very cool to be able to use my Droid to scan my DVDs into DVD profiler. Any thoughts? |

If it spits out a text-file you might want to wait for v3.6 (currently in Beta) as it can handle UPC-lists at least for adding titles. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you for responding. I appreciate the link to posts about scanners. I do not see anywhere in DVD profiler, including the help menu, an option for scanning upc codes into the software. However, the previous posts talk about which scanners will work Can you please tell me how to find instructions for using a bar code scanner? Thank you very much. Don |

| Posted: | | | | It has been a while since I used my scanner but, if I remember correctly, there are no special instructions. In the Add By UPC screen, rather than typing in the UPC codes, you just scan the barcode and the data is placed into the field. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Once again, thanks for responding. I didn't anticipate it would be that straight forward. I thought their would be a driver for the scanner and interface for DVDP. I did some searching on android marketplace and found a new program called PC_BCR. It uses my droid installed barcode scanner software (also on android marketplace) and allows you to use your droid as a scanner over your wireless network. I'm currently on the road so I can't test the program for a few days. It apparently scans barcode into any editable field you have highlighted on your PC. Sounds just like what I was looking for The web site for the PC side of the software is: http://code.google.com/p/android-pcbcr/ Don | | | Last edited: by despence |
