is this the one you have. if so than based on what I quickly read it should act as keyboard input, so as long as its configured to scan the first (prefix) and last (checksum) digit than it will work. Based on the price of that scanner (if it is the one) it should be programmable to set it to scan those digits. they generally have a manual with a bunch of barcodes that you can scan to program the scanner. you should be able to find it online if you don't have it. I used to write point of sale software and most scanners these days you just need to plug in and they will emulate a keyboard. there are a few (like the blue tooth one i have, now sold under the name ROV) that require a wedge software (usually a free download, for mine I just provide the s/n of the scanner) that needs to be running but then the scans are treated as keyboard input. Older scanners would require additional software/programming in order for the input to be read. most new scanners are also available in usb, but older ones were made that would plug in between the keyboard and the computer (called keyboard wedge). The cable ends in a Y. one side plugs in to the computer and the other side accepts the keyboards plug. These work as keyboard input but you need to have a keyboard plugged into them for it to be recognized (so need a ps2 keyboard on your system, not just a usb one).
