| Posted: | | | | CD WOW seem to have dramatically dropped the prices of their Blu-Rays;
Twilight - £8.99 Quantum of Solace - £10.49 Matrix Trilogy - £15.99 Yes Man - £9.99 Transporter 3 - £8.99 Bourne Ultimatum - £6.99
Just a few examples...
Don't know how long these prices will last, but I've been using CD WOW for years and they've always been very reliable |

| Posted: | | | | Possibly, although the australian imports were never reduced though. When I checked last nite at about 11:30 the prices had gone back up. I order the Matrix trilogy for £15.99 then got an email this morning saying order delayed as they're waiting for stock from the suppliers |

| Posted: | | | | I ordered the Mummy Trilogy and Days of Thunder yesterday and received this morning also a mail saying order delayed. Checked now in a different forum and there it says that with CD WOW it can take weeks in these cases. Also when checking on their site today it suddenly said I ordered the Australian Blu-rays but I am sure it did not say that yesterday. So now I wrote the customer support a mail and asked for the order to be canceled. Don't want to wait for weeks for Australian Blu-rays (even if they are cheap). |

| Posted: | | | | I recieved 2 emails for the 2 items I ordered saying that they would be delayed. It has to have been a pricing error because AFAICS all the bargain basement prices have jumped up to what they should be. I ordered Heroes seasons 1 & 2 and Cloverfield which came to £38, at the new prices the total would be over £83.
I'd be willing to bet that they either make us wait weeks/months for our orders in the hopes that people will get fed up and cancel or they will cancel the order themselves in a few days and suggest people re-order when they come back in stock. |

| Posted: | | | | Yep, got a couple of emails today stating that my orders have been canceled as they cannot get hold of the titles Sent an email back asking why they were still for sale on their site and that I did not want my order canceled but I can't see it doing any good. Oh well, worth a try |

Oh well, worth a try Same here. I've emailed them twice, 1st reply: Quote: I appreciate the disappointment caused by the cancellation of this order. This was a great bargain which led to an extraordinary demand. Regrettably, this demand exhausted all stock very quickly and has resulted in us being unable to fulfill your order. These sales and promotions are launched with a significant stock holding at the discounted price and are offered on a strictly first come, first served basis. However, once all discounted stock has been allocated to customer orders, normal pricing resumes and excess orders are cancelled. Then 2nd reply; Quote: We had managed to procure stock at a discounted rate from our suppliers and as always, we passed on the discount to our valued customers. This was a great bargain which led to an extraordinary demand. These sales and promotions are launched with a significant stock holding at the discounted price and are offered on a strictly first come, first served basis. One of the appeals of CDWOW is the many fantastic deals we make available to our customers, across our domains. Accordingly, some promotions exceed expectations very quickly – so much so that our sites may be unable to update our stock holding (or absence thereof) quickly enough to identify shortages. We do acknowledge that customers are increasingly agitated at missing out on a great deal, though we also seek and encourage customers to appreciate that we operate on limited (albeit substantial) stocks for these promotions.
Lesson learnt - I'm never using CD WOW again! Consumer Direct have told me that since CD WOW processed my payment, they agreed to the contract to supply the goods. Nevermind though, CD have now passed details of this situation on to Trading Standards in order to ensure that they are aware of this trader and their business practices. |

Oh well, worth a try This and many other reasons are why I no longer use CD-WOW. Have found them to be a complete bunch of charletons. Ritch | | | Learning is not mandatory, but then neither is survival. |

| Posted: | | | | Spike- I got the exact same 1st email and the 2nd was similar to your 2nd. I don't think that this was an offer at all, it was surely a pricing error and they've made these emails up to cover their backs. |

| Posted: | | | | MarEll - I'm sure what they've done is against trading standards. It might be worth forwarding your emails to consumer direct, I already have. This isn't the first time something has happened like this with CD WOW and I think they should be stopped from doing it again. |

| Posted: | | | | I stopped using CD-WOW a long time ago exactly because of these "tricks". They pull them all the time...
- Delivery / shipping dates are standard unavailable - Prices are, if attractive, almost an insurance that you will NOT get the item but a dopey mail telling you the item is no longer available and your order will be cancelled. Yet, it still is for sale on the site (for a much higher price, ofcourse). - It can take ages (no kidding) for your items to be shipped out, yet you will have no clue as to when you may expect delivery (see point 1) - Aweful customerservice | | | My DVD's

| Posted: | | | | CD-Wow are pretty well known for being pretty poor when it comes to dispatching orders. I can never work out how they don't even have new titles in stock when every other retailer you can think of does. I haven't used them for a few years now as I prefer to spend a bit more by going with somebody else who will get my order to me in a reasonable amount of time without any delays. |

I've been corresponding with them but it looks like I'd have to go to court if I want it sorted. Which I don't think I'll be doing. This is the last repsonse I got: Contract is a civil matter that Trading Standards can not enforc e. As I say you would need to go to court for breech of contract and I have no doubt they are in breech of contract as the products are still available. In the meantime the criminal aspect of misleading pricing is being dealt with by Danniel Mannion who may contact you.I got a call from Danniel today but I was in the garden, I'll see if he phones again tomorrow. |
