I’m a huge sports nut and former sports journalist, and love playing golf (badly) and softball — though my new “hobby” of being a dad is my most rewarding activity. I’ve been with Logitech for more than six years and involved in tech for a decade.
I love my PLAYSTATION®3, especially the fantastic HD experience when watching Blu-ray movies. I’m also a huge fan of our Harmony remotes.
Yesterday, an Engadget reporter did some digging on an FCC Web site and uncovered our plans to manufacture an adapter that allows our Harmony remotes to control the PS3. We can’t give you all the details just yet, but we can say that this adapter will, when used with any Harmony remote, give you complete control of your movie-watching experience on PS3. It will also turn the PS3 on and off – and allow you to set up your Harmony activities to include the PS3 just as you would any other device. You also won’t need to dedicate any of your valuable USB ports to get that control.
We’ll have more information very soon, including pricing and availability. We hope you can wait just a little bit longer! Source | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | From the sound of things, it seems to be a IR 2 Bluetooth type Box. Something you can already buy from many places ranging in the $50-$100 or so price range. For example right here at: http://www.ir2bt.com/info.htm
This is one of many. You just have to look. The Pro's for the Logitech version, it would be sold at retail stores where you can buy their remotes like at Best Buy. These others are Internet only. Posiby Easyer setup, or Updates with the Harmony software if need be when Sony releases a Update that would make the device fail which is why they've come out with more advanced Upgradable boxes.
These things need no USB port. That's the whole point. There's no Power at the USB port when the PS3 is off which is one reson why the USB adapter's don't power ON the PS3 bgesides the lack of more advanced features that Blue Tooth control has. They have there own power Supply. |

| Posted: | | | | I just bought a PS3IR-PRO from schmartstuff.com - needs a SB port but I use a plugin USB charger so it powers up the PS3 fine.
They provide Pront Hex IR commands details asweell which saved a lot of effort programming NetRemote etc. Logitech have a Harmony code set for it also
Why reinvent the wheel I say :-) |
