| Posted: | | | | Hello, First of all, I love DVD Profiler But could we have some information if Ken Cole intends to release an iPhone version or if he has abandoned that idea all together. The last reaction on the subject from Ken cole dates from June last year. I want to buy a new mobile phone for over a year now and I still havent decided . I prefer the user interface of the iPhone over any WindowsMobile smart-phone i tried, but I would like a phone that is able to run DVD Profiler. So, could we have some update please Thanks |

Just wondering... | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Just wondering... I don't believe so. I load music and movies on my iPhone from my XP machine just fine. But you do need a Mac to develop the iPhone app. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I would love to have this app on my iPhone, I was just in fact looking to see if the mobile version is available yet for the iPhone. No you do not have to own a mac to make an iPhone application | | | "Adults are just obsolete children, and to hell with them" - Dr. Seuss |

| Posted: | | | | While it is possible to create an iPhone-friendly webpage, and indeed to create an iPhone web-app (which is just a webpage with particular layout), a native iPhone (or iPod Touch) app can only be developed on a Mac. The iPhone SDK is a Mac-only piece of software, and the process whereby a native iPhone app is signed and registered with Apple is only available on a Mac. This is, of course, only to the best of my knowledge, but I *have* looked into writing applications for the iPhone myself ... | | | -fred |

If someone has evidence to the contrary, I'd love to see it. Because I'd be all over developing some iPhone apps. But I don't currently have a Mac and I'm not buying one just to write some iPhone apps. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Ken already stated that he owns an iphone, and borrowed a mac to play around with the SDK... and that as an iphone user he understands that it is desired... and that is where the conversation ended... i think at best we should expect some type of web widget kind of app that links to a special version of the online db... so basically.... READ ONLY. edit: ooopps didn't realize the original poster already knew this... in that case... ignore the first few sentences. | | | -JoN | | | Last edited: by ruineddaydreams |

| Posted: | | | | As far as I know you DON'T need a Mac in order to run the Iphone SDK you only require Leopard Os X. All new Mac OS run on Intel based CPUs. So if you have a newer Intel Core 2Duo you can install Leopard OS X on your PC and dual boot with Xp or Vista. I've seen people do it and am considering doing it too in order to code for the Iphone as it seems to be pretty simple if you have prior programming knowledge. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I just got me an Ipod touch and I must say I'm impressed by its features! Can't wait for the Ipod-version of Profiler. As a long time user I feel the Ipod is just perfect for a Profiler-version, and Profiler would be perfect for Apps!!

| Posted: | | | | It may be of interest to note that collectorz.com have just released an iphone version of their movie database product (comparable to dvd profiler).
I would prefer to have an iphone version of dvd profiler.
