Well, I'm in Denmark, but it looks like that version is released on several countries in Europe...

What I want to know is if there seems to be a general problem with this release, or if I were just unlucky?

I bought it yesterday. When I started watvhing it last night, 35 minutes into the second episode (on disc one), the picture started  skipping, freezing and finally my player gave up and reported "Disc error". So, I went back today and got the whole box replaced. Now, I got to disc three, and it started doing the same thing... So it'll be another replacement tomorrow...

But is it just bad luck? Also, I wonder why both of the season 1 boxes I got did not have any plastic wrapping, when both season 2 and 3 did - would it help to demand a plastic-wrapped box? I should I just replace the particular disc instead of the whole boxset, hoping to end up with a non-faulty box?
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)

The german box is a paperboard box containing 7 individually packed discs (in ThinPacks).

And no I had no problem playing them.

Sorry :-/

Yep, so is the danish one (which also has german subtitles). Reason I believe this to be a "multi-locality" release is that all the writing is in english...

The german box has german, english and french audio and danish subtitles (amongst others).

If you're not far from the border maybe you try your luck in germany?

Hmmm... The Danish locality has only English audio...

But it seems it won't be necessary. I did what I probably should have done before posting here, which is stick the disc in my HDD-recorder, and it plays it just fine. After thinking about it, I relized that it only had problems in the seconds layer, so it looks likke I need to look for a new DVD-Player...
