I don't think HTML-tags are allowed in the signature, as I see a lot of text only.

Here is the rule about that ...

Signatures:

Forum signatures are governed by the same rules as forum posts.  In addition, forum signatures must not exceed the height of the signature guide.  To check your signature, use the preview button on the account settings page.  We reserve the right to remove signatures based on content that is disruptive to the forums.  Repeated or severe offenses will result in account banning.


I do not see anything in here that says you can not use HTML in your signature ... unless I am not reading something that is actually there.

You see that the HTML-Tags are shown, not rendered.

Of course he could use the Pseudo-HTML-Tags which are used the forum, but that is a slightly different thing.
