Hello all

Can anyone tell me if Razor is actually the first 2 episodes of Season 4? Or is it a separate thing entirely?

I don't want to buy it now only to find that it forms part of the eventual Season 4 release.

Thanks

I had the same concern but having watched it, it's a seperate entity that takes place during Season 3 before they found the Temple of Apollo.

Separate entity altogether.  I believe they knew that the fourth season wouldn't be starting until 2008, so they tossed us a nice little story in "TV movie" format.  Without spoiling anything in the film itself, it takes place on board the Pegasus before they joined up with the Galactica AND while Lee was in charge - two stories that interweave linked by a common crew member we have not focused upon before.

As for it being part of the season 4 DVD release, we really have no idea for certain.  They could very well include it, but I do doubt it.

Any information I want about BSG I get from
Here
as for season 4 try Here

Although an fan run site they are usually pretty good with insider info...but as others have said whether Razor will be re-released later as part of the Season 4 episodes will undoubtable be down to the production company. Nothing about Yea/Nay to if you buy it now at least you will have it. If it's then re-released as part of a seasonal box set you could always sell the stand alone. But then the stand alone has quite a bit of extras.

Hope this is some help Neil.

You run the risk that it will be part of a season 4 set.  Like the mini series ended up being.  But in this case, i would go for it and get it.  It was very good.  Lots of stuff on the disc.  Even better if you can get the version with the extra stuff on it at Best Buy.  Unfortunatly it may not be as good a price from there.  At the time of release, it was the same as the best online prices now.. $20.

If you did not see it on TV you MUST get it.. very enjoyable.  If maybe what and see.  Although the DVD does have some expanded stuff.  Cain as a child for one...

It's a completely separate story, a prequel if you will, that fills in the gaps about Pegasus, and was in response to all the fan inquiries about same.

Actually, the framework story takes place toward the end of season 2, somewhere after The Captain's Hand, but before Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 1. Which really means it takes place either before or after Downloaded (I vote for before).

Is suppose it plays directly after The Capain's Hand as Lee is still looking for a XO, but has of course a different one after Razor .

But I would suggest watching it between the third and the fourth season simply because of the remark of the hybrid towards Starbuck.

Thanks for all the replies.

I live in the UK - and, luckily (?), the original miniseries was NOT part of the Season 1 set we got - so I didn't double dip.

But, given that the R2 versions of the season sets tend to have little or no extras I think I'll take the plunge and get Razor.

Thanks again!

Plus, you have to figure that Season 4 won't be out on DVD for a year or so.

FWIW there is a comment on another forum from someone who has watched Razor and they say:
