I just voted on this title (upc: 012569-791732) and it included a slip cover and new images of the slip cover (current images are the keep case)

The submision was all yes votes when i checked it out, however, I voted no, because I had not seen this title with a slip cover until this year and the title came out last year, which is when I got it and mine doesn't have a slip cover (admittedly it was after christmas that I got it so it was out for a little while).

Now my main reason for not thinking it comes with a slip cover is that on the slip cover it says '50th Birthday Deluxe Edition' and on the keep case it just says 'Deluxe Edition'. I did some research and How the grinch stole christmas was written in 1957. which would make this year the '50th Birthday' which would mean that putting out a disc last year that had '50th Birthday Deluxe Edition' would make no sense.

Now this is really for my own curiosity, not trying to stir up debate. But since after I voted no (with my reason) more people did vote yes, one stating they got it when it was released and theirs has a slip cover.

It originally had a slip cover.  If I recall, it had white glitter glued all over it and I remember thinking that the glitter will eventually make a heckuva mess down the road as it rubs off.

Edit:  Just checked mine from last year and it says 50th Birthday across the top of the slip cover.  Guess they were a year early.  The new image submission is correct.

I'm thinking it might have had a slip cover, but I think the contributed one might be different than the original one. and i don't recall the cover i saw this past weekend seeming to have a glitter rub off problem.

I work with DVDs, and while I don't have this version, it was released last year with the glitter covered slip cover (the same as this year).  I remember thinking that I liked the cover, but it wasn't worth the double dip.    Hope this helps.

I got my copy on 12/8/2006 and it came with the slip.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

It's not different, it's identical to the slip cover I have from my purchase a year ago.  The submitted scans are correct.  The slip is even reflective on the rear which accounts for all the trouble the submitter had with that image.

Now you may choose to vote no for any number of reasons, but your current stated reason is incorrect...since you're asking.

I never noticed during this past year that this TV movie (from 1965)  was rereleased as a 50th Birthday re release.., But now that I am dabbling in HI Def cable broadcast I was stunned by the beauty and color of the  print that ABC ran a few weeks back. The colors and clarity of this classic was breathtaking.., .
So now I know where ABC got their print from.  This restored 24 minute classic was very good looking, even if you do only watch it seasonally..

In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Mmmm, it is tempting to rebuy it.  Unfortunately, since I already own it and do watch it only seasonly, I just can't afford to double dip (even with the fun cover and the restored master).  I'll have to catch it on tv (already watched my copy this year) and see how much of an improvement it is...maybe I'll find a really good sale to justify the purchase. *grin*
