This got declined with 2 yes voted and zero no votes.

Reason given was "Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions."

I will bold the sources.

Here are the contribution notes.

Source is DVD itself and each episodes end credits.

Studios to match end credits.

Overview from back cover.

Added crew with episode dividers and as credited in each episode. Used credited as for Garry Marshall, this is Penny's brother and is the producer of the show along with many other TV Series. This also links him to the previous 2 seasons of Laverne & Shirley.

#16 divider is split into 2 to include the full name of the episode because it won't all fit in one.

Cast added with episode dividers. Penny and Cindy roles carried over from 2 previous seasons of L&S already in database.

Other roles taken from end credits.

Credited as:
Used http://www.tv.com/laverne-and-shirley/show/760/episode_guide.html?season=3&tag=season_dropdown;dropdown;2

Michael McManus credited as Michael L. McManus - http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/michael-mcmanus/166187

Cisse Cameron credited as Cissy Colpitts - not much info about her, but found this on a blog. http://booksteveslibrary.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Listed under "Monday, September 17, 2007"

Linda Gillen credited as Linda Gillin - http://video.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?ean=97360694529&z=y&bnit=H

Frances E. Williams credited as Frances Williams - The TV.com link above and Credit Lookup tool results E. = 26 profiles, no E. = 4 profiles.

Bob McClurg uncredited is from the DVD case episode list inside and under disc #4.

As you can see I noted sources. The DVD, end credits, previous L&S seasons already in database, other websites, credit lookup tool and the dvd case for the uncredited person.

Any help?

Sometimes the scanners make a mistake.  Please try PM'ing Gerri to please expand on the reason why it was rejected and/or reverify.

t seems weird things are happening with the screener(s)...

I just had a contribution where the only changes were that I added CoO and improved the cover scans. It had 2 yes-votes and zero no-votes.

The profile got accepted - the scans were declined (with no reason)...

But hey, it is the christmas time - maybe the elfs got in Kens systems too (maybe they're cooking up a nice gift for all of us?).

If you are referring to Coneheads, it was because the people (or aliens in this case, I guess) on the front appeared pink on my screen. I didn't think the improvements to the back image provided enough improvement to make this image a significant improvement over what was there.

I answered your PM. I went ahead and approved it. A suggestion I have is if you have extensive contribution notes, put stuff like the cast and crew first (esp uncredited). Most important information first and short and to the point is always best.

Gerri, in your PM you said I should resubmit it. Which I did and I moved the info about the roles and uncredited to the top.

But now you said that you went ahead and approved it.

Should I withdraw my contribution since you said you approved it or should I let it go through?

Just a little confused as to what you want me to do.

I'd suggest checking the status of the previous contribution. If it is showing as approved you can withdraw the new one. Since Gerri said she "went ahead and approved it" it's probably sitting there waiting to be released.

I was referring to that - and you're right, I can see that now...

That'll teach me not to edit scans with the sun glaring directly into my screen...

Oh, and you can tell Ken that I'm a little disappointed that I can't give you a positive point for that! If he can program it so we can't rate yours or Kens posts, he can also do it so that we can only give you positives and no negatives!

What totally amazes me is how how no one ( to a degree, that is) bothers to check their contribution score Card.., I check mine twice a day to see how voting is going,  if it looks like it will be declined, I'll pull it right away.
(If Invelos sees that you have not a near perfect score card over the year, it will affect your voting reputation. )
Like right now,  today, after 3 full days, we still have that BTTF contribution where the box set scans have been tried to be replaced with original scans from what?  VHS? and the region is replaced from Region 1 to Region 2.. --  71  No's  and 1 Yes.., Did the contributor figure that either the screeners will see it his way,, or the rest of us will have a change of heart and switch our votes.. ??

In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

And someone else have the same bizarre contribution at this time : All Night Long Volume 1

He try to pass the boxset with the 3 volumes cover in place of the actual cover who is already corect. How could you try this if the UPC is not the same? It seems to me that it's a good hint yelling to not submit.

At least the BTTF make me laugh ... Maybe it was his goal

It would be more interesting to know what the person who voted Yes was thinking? That is something that amazes me even more!

Right now, I have The Wedding Crashers up for vote. The only changes are that that a DTS soundtrack has been added and then some new covers. The notes say the DTS track was added "from cover"...

Now, it doesn't say "DTS" anywhere on the cover (existing or contributed), so where did he get that from? The contributed scans are a bit blurred according to the existing ones, and to top it off, the back has a big SF-logo (the distributor) embossed in it - something the original cover does not have, and it gives the impression that it was taken from someones website.

Obviously, I voted No the minute I saw it (after checking the actual disc to see it it did indeed have a DTS track - it doesn't), which was two days ago. Today, I am baffled to see that two other people have actually voted Yes! I recognize the names, and I don't remember ever seeing them voting no for anything! Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any contributions or forum posts from them either, but that's besides the point here...

What I would like to know is: Why do these people even vote? If they vote Yes for anything - even the (I know this may sound harsh) obviously bogus contirbutions, what is the point? Does Ken and Gerri keep some kind of list to see if people are voting "properly?" Can they revoke someones voting rights if they don't? Will they?

I have seen this type of voting as well. I don't think it affects the ultimate decision of Invelos, so I don't think we should be much concerned.

With that said, we all make mistakes. I have voted in error, sometimes quite stupidly. (no comments please ) In those circumstances, I've been PM'd and corrected the matter. But I do understand you are talking about those that seem to vote yes to violations of the most basic nature.

Quote:

They have mentioned that they do take into consideration the votes of people who will vote yes to everything.

Quote:

I'm sure that they can although I've not heard that they do that. Rather what I've understood the situation to be is that one's voting history is tracked somehow and that this plays a role. Of course, they never say exactly how.

I don't think, however, that these yes-voters are causing contributions to be approved in error. I think there are enough of us who are diligent to place well-worded 'no' votes to point out the issues. Those who try to add cast and crew to Back to the Future, for example, are always resoundingly defeated, in spite of a yes vote or two.

I'd guess it's one of two things:

  • They just want to get rid of the list of titles up or voting and do not realise they can do that by using the neutral voting button; or

  • They just want to get rid of the titles and realise that a neutral vote doesn't count towards the number of votes on their profile page.

  • I can (sort of) live with the first one, but the second is problematic.  Of course, the real reason may be something totally different!
