As I understand it disc IDs can change with different releases of the same film using the same UPC. Ken has said (back at IVS) we are to submit any variant disc IDs so he can capture them as part of the master online profile. That way, if someone tries to add the disc to their collection, no matter what ID they have it will bring up the correct profile.

As long as the submitter is submitting the disc ID under the correct UPC then you should vote YES.

For the record this was NOT just a disc id change ....

Is there a reason this would be listed twice? I know they say above that there are 2 commentaries ... but why would it not just get listed twice if they were different formats?

Somewhat related question as far as disc id's go. Is it ok to submit a profile that is just a disc id for a profile that doesn't currently have a disc id?

Yes. This is not a problem.

I started out doing that, but now find myself going back and doing full audits for some of the titles I only submitted disc info for before.
Not to say disc ID's aren't important, cuz they are, but try to check out the disc a bit while it's in the drive anyway. Wish I would've before, but I was new and just trying to help with whatever, Now that I've been here a while, even doing a cover scan leads me to double-check all the disc info. This also depends on who's subs have been approved previously, as some contributors are on my "I know they're submitting nothing but truth" list which gets them "yes" votes at a glance and saves time not re-checking when submitting covers. I've re-checked some from them, and now feel no need to check anything else after finding nothing wrong.
