So, in theory one can be sued by copyright holders [for Legolas] and - for individual and brand rights - by Orlando Bloom. It is still an open debate if this kind of personal use falls under the fair use exempt.
As long as one does not make money with an avatar, or denigrates the portrayed character/actor, and barristers have other things to do, we should be quite safe. |
