I got the original Japanese DVD from the Movie "Mechanical Violator Hakaider".

The Original EAN code is 011218112

But DVD profiler keeps telling me it's not Correct.

Is Disc ID going to be the only solution?

Disc ID is going to be your answer, the EAN as I see it is invalid, at least as far as Profiler is concerned. Though i have to confess the sequence of numbers and the format doesn't look right to me, either, but I am not an expert Japanese EAN sequencing.

I believe Anime Studio is a Hongkong Bootleg Label. Official DVDs have never English and Chinese Subtitle together.

The Label is listed on "The Pirate Anime FAQ"

That would confirm my suspicions relative to the EAN, morglum. And of course if it is indeed a BOOT (pirate) it cannot be Contributed.

And full EANs must have 13 digits so I think that adds to the suspicions

A lot of these bootleg labels have all the machinery and technology as legitimate companies, so they are able to produce VERY high quality and convincing products. The product floods the marketplace and both vendors and customers to sell it believing it's the real deal.

Anime is one of the most bootlegged items on the planet. It has become VERY difficult to tell if you have an original or not, even if you buy from big name vendors like Amazon.

I don't remember the whole story, but I remember reading about a big company which made products like CD burners (I forget which one) where people often talked about product made in their Hong Kong plant. Except, the company didn't have a Hong Kong plant. They sent a liaison down who worked with the Hong Kong police to set up an undercover operation. They sent undercover agents to apply for jobs at the plant. And it turned out to be no different than an actual plant that makes product. They had all their own equipment, and actually made quality product. They simply put the company logo on it instead of their own in order to make more money.
