Hello everybody,

Even though I am not exactly new to DVD Profiler, I never did quite test all the features and possibilities it offers... Until now I just used the software on a " do I have this DVD or not?" basis.

Please indulge if these questions has been asked and discussed already but I somehow understood that I could visualize trailers with the software.  I did not quite find an aswer to my researches in this forum (or maybe I did not look well enough?).

Well, there it is:

1- Can you play trailers in DVD Profiler?

2- If yes, can you play it by a click of a button in the movie profile and do you need a special layout/skin for that?

3- The tough question: If you can you play trailers in DVD Profiler, where do you get them?
I have seen that on some users sites you can get data and pictures of crew and cast. Is there a site where you can downlod all the trailers (if available, of course!).

Thanks for answering and helping.

I believe it can be done but it does take a layout designed to accomdate I think. There are probably several, I am sure one of our colleagues (read fellow crazie <BG>) will be able to point you at one.

This is what I do too... except I use an HTML window that was created for it. You can check it out on this THREAD.

I download all the trailers to my hard drive (seems to be taking up roughly 6 gig per 100 trailers, and most of those are HiDef) then add a link in the notes section that points to the file.  Click the link and powerdvd fires up and plays the trailer.
Its a bit tedious adding the html to each profile but once its finally done its well worth it.

There are 2 sites that I know of that offer trailers for download (if anyone knows anymore please let me know)
Daves trailer page - a few HD trailers and a LOT of normal ones
HD-Trailers.net

The code I use is
Quote:
<A HREF="F:\TRAILERS\kinky_boots_h640w.mov">Play Trailer</A>

You'll need HTML enabled in the options too.

I wouldnt mind using the YouTube method but I couldnt find any good quality trailers on there

Fair enough, although when you can get a 500gig drive for £40 (no doubt cheaper in the US) thats no excuse

This computer illiterate person  would also like to try having the trailers.  I have a place on my hard drive ready to store them.  I have only one question now ( I am sure I will have many more once I get started ), what is powerdvd?

Thanks guys

PowerDVD is a PC program that lets you play back DVD's on your computer.

What he said

You dont need to use this program but WMP wont work as it doesnt play .mov files, which is what most trailers are.  You can also get alot of trailers from your dvds too.  Made easier with profiler as you can filter by 'trailers' in special features.
