Help...I downloaded your latest DVD Profiler and only 52 of my 1,184 profiles transfered. Please help me find them, or I'm going to be very upset! :

You've got a valid registration key, so you shouldn't have a problem restoring the whole database (non-paying users have to do 50 at a time).
Has the registration key been entered correctly into the program? Even upper/lower case can make a difference - make sure it matches exactly what it says in your registration info (click "Registration" above).

I am having (maybe) a similar issue.

I used to have the old version of DVD Profiler. I recently realized that I didn't download it onto the computer I got 7 months ago and went to do that Sunday Night. New owner, new version. Okay, no problem ... until I realize I didn't have my registration key ... so I locate that online yesterday and I go home to install 3.0 and generate a new key for this version ... done.

Okay so here's the issue. I can't seem to import my collection to the new version. My entire collection shows up online on the OLD SITE but somehow it doesn't "find" it when i go to import the online collection to "override" the host collection (which has 0 movies in it).

I may do another thread ... but thought to post here first.

Thanks

p.s if you click on the online collection button it will show i have none ... but check here Karen's Collection and i do ... how do i get THAT collection onto the new version ?

I think Karen's problem is that she doesn't have her collection locally to transfer. It's only online on the Intervocative site.
Hopefully if she follows the instructions I put on the other thread she'll be able to access it.

Keep in mind that a lot of profiles from the old site won't transfer over for one reason or another.

Thankfully, the CueCat makes it easy to re-enter DVD's by quickly scanning in the bar code on the back of the cases.  You can find them in the CueCat store on eBay for $10 plus shipping.

I love my CueCat.

if you don't have a backup file or any other copies of your old installation, as a last resort you can still recover from your IVS online collection.  Most items are retained, IIRC only customized overviews, images, and easter egg fields are lost.

1. Download and install 2.4/2.5 from IVS (fortunately it doesn't matter that the online db at IVS is now deceased - you don't need it for this operation - just click No/Cancel whenever it asks to connect.)
2. Download your online collection from IVS to your local system (Online -> My Profiler: Login: Download)
2a. Once imported, you can optionally download cover images at this time - but only one by one (the automated "Refresh All Images" doesn't work now that the v2 online db is off.)
3. Backup your db with "File -> Backup Database".

You can now use this backup file for importing into v3, the details, tricks and caveats for which are covered at length elsewhere here.

edit:
gah.. didn't see your other thread...

thanks to all

going to do this tonight and will let you all know.

I appreciate the feedback ... I was seriously dreading entering all the ubc's again but was resigned to the fact that may indeed need to be done.

again thank you thank you thank you
