| Posted: | | | | Hi All new in this forum, been using Movie collectors for many years now. Was quit happy with it until i saw the features in DVD Profiler.
HERE COMES MY QUESTION, is there somehow you can transfer all my almost 2600 movies, into DP..? In my collection all my movies are with Scanned Covers ( Front & Back )..
IS this possible........?
Secound Question: is it possible to make your profiler into HTML page, so i can update it to my site. www.hofby.com

Kind regards Jens Welcome Jens. Since you have that many DVDs you will need to purchase the premium key, which is a one time fee, to utilize all the features. Once you do, an eye will appear next to "DVD-Reactor". I believe that the answer to both your questions are yes, but you might want to browse the forums because these issues, and many others, have been discussed over the last few weeks. You can search the forums by topic if someone with more expertise doesn't get back to you. |

| Posted: | | | | To my knowledge there is no direct import of other collections. A tool has been written to import UPC's. You can find it here. I think you need a text file with a list of all UPC's you have in your collection. This will upload empty profiles with the correct UPC in DVD profiler. If you refresh the profiles, all info will be downloaded. Exporting to HTML is not possible in DVDprofiler. You do have the possibility to upload your collection to the Invelos server, but this will give you another layout and another URL. You can however export your DVDProfiler collection to XML, then import the XML in Moviecollector, if you are running version 5 (version 4 is not compatible with DVDP 3.x). Finally use Moviecollector to create your website. Regards | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | If you have a cuecat, you can scan in your UPC's pretty quickly. Chances are, the profiles for your DVD's are already in the master database so you'll get your cover scans.
Hell, you could use a cuecat to scan the UPC off of the back cover images in your old collection too and import them into DVDP. |

Depends on what information you have, and what you want to enter. If you have the UPCs, the Import UPC List Plugin is you friend. But if you have personal Information like place of purchase, price paid etc, there is currently no way of importing them. Importing data is still the weak point of DVD Profiler. Quote: In my collection all my movies are with Scanned Covers ( Front & Back ).. Depending on how they are named now, it might be possible with some batch-writing-skills. Quote: Secound Question: is it possible to make your profiler into HTML page, Not directly, but there is the XML-Export, which is an absolute strong point of the DVD Profiler. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | If you dont have the UPC codes it is a lot of work. It took me 3 days to import 1200+ titels into DVDProfiler without a scanner. If you have the UPC codes you can use the Import UPC List plugin as adviced above is your friend But all manually added data will be lost. I am still editing my database because i only had the titles in another program | | | |

Kind regards Jens Whilst you can't upload it to your own site, a premium registration key does allow you to upload your collection to Invelos' server. If you click the dvd icon top right of my post that will take you to mine for example. As others have said you can use PHP profiler to create a website if you prefer to host on your own site, and the program is very weak in terms of importing data. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

Well, since the XML export is disabled for collections larger than 50 DVDs, this might cause troubles... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
