Well, typing down cast & crew for a profile without, I recognized a misspelling in another profile.

And altough the data here on the server for this Profile ("Stalingrad" 4009750281260) is different from mine, it was never in the list of changes/updates. Is this a known problem?

And: At least in theory this would cause to check every single profile - or at least the ones which are not on the update-list - if the data in my profiler is different from the one on the server.

Sorry to say, but this would be HORRIBLE!

Yeah, with a collection of  your size, that's no child's play. But there is a tool that can make it a bit easier, DpUpdateCheck.

So finally I have to make this kind of official, that at least I myeslf got problems with the upates on a technical way or because of a technical reason! As I am actually deep in erasing/merging dupliate name entries, several points caused confusion:

1.) I changed the name of an actor in a profile to the most common one, then the formerly listed one as "credited as" and contributed - and the site told me: "There aren't any changes" - altough I just had done them.

2.) As actually I am on changes/updates nearly every day, when I am done I use "Refresh Updated Profiles" to get to a list like this:

Well, usually if any entry is not part of that list, there are no changes. And if on all profiles additionally this button

isn't active, so far I should be sure that the profile is up to date.

But for the last few ones I had to do changes/corrections in the cast, none of the profiles was up to date!

After the experience described by 1.) I added one more step before I started to do changes:

3.) Online -> Refresh from Invelos -> Preview Changes

and altough none of the profiles (except one) I worked on so far was neither part of the list of Pic1 nor had the button of Pic2 active, had several changes - sometimes the ones I just wanted to do.

Okay, the next thaught was that "anything" of my installation has problems. So I uninstalled DVDProfiler and installed it again. No Change! The next step was backing up the whole database (if there was still any error after running the repair tool) and restoring the whole collection into a new and empty database. But once again: No Change!

I am barely able to believe that I am the only one with this problem! So before you do any further comments would you be so kind and check 3.) for one or more of the profiles of your collection altough the update-button of Pic2 is inactive?

So far this is the only chance we - or at least I - have to find out if this is just my own problem or a common one of the software/database!

Thanks for your support!

Two things you need to know:
a) Names are not shift sensitive, so "Patty Mcdonald" and "Patty McDonald" are considered the same.
b) And curiously, names are not parsing sensitive, so "Patty Bun//McDonald", "Patty/Bun/McDonald" and "Patty//Bun McDonald" are considered the same (unless I'm mistaken).

Perhaps give just one simple example? One profile and one name change you have / had trouble with.
