Title: The Black Cat
Year: 1981
Director: Lucio Fulci
Rating: 15
Length: 92 Min.
Video: Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: English: DTS-HD Master Audio: Mono, Italian: DTS-HD Master Audio: Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles: English

Stars:
Patrick Magee
Mimsy Farmer
David Warbeck
Al Cliver
Dagmar Lassander
Bruno Corazzari

Plot:
From Italy's own Godfather of Gore Lucio Fulci (Zombie, The Gates of Hell) comes The Black Cat – a gruesome reimagining of the classic Edgar Allan Poe tale starring Patrick Magee (A Clockwork Orange) and Mimsy Farmer (The Perfume of the Lady in Black).

When a young couple goes missing in a sleepy English village, Scotland Yard Inspector Gorley (David Warbeck, The Beyond) is brought in to assist on the case. But what starts off as routine investigation turns into a murder mystery inquiry when the couple are found dead in mysterious circumstances.

Fusing a classically gothic atmosphere with the decidedly more visceral elements that are the hallmark of Fulci's films, The Black Cat is too-often overlooked and underrated entry in the Italian master filmmaker's canon.

My Thoughts:
This was a first watch for me. So didnt know what to expect really. But the movie was a great one actually. And even tho this is a old movie, the bluray is amazing. Great picture and sound on this copy.
And for the movie itself, it was a cool horror movie. Some great spots here and there, and they actually made the cat look real scary and freaky. All in all a great horror movie actually. Recommanded to check it out!

My Thoughts:

OK... this one is a little hard for me to review. First of all it is one of the handful of films Dawn liked me to watch with her. Though not to the extent of some others. And this one has some good and some baf elements... pretty much equally.I think the storyline could have used some more development... maybe replace Michael Beck... because he just didn't impress any of us with his acting ability. And gotten rid of the cartoon segment all together. But the storyline is enjoyable... Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly were both great and it was able to easily keep my attention through-out the film. So I would say yes... this one is far from award winning material but I think it is worth the time put in to watch it.

My Thoughts:

This is one I thought I seen years ago... but after watching it through out I am not sure. Maybe I only seen clips of it. But this is one I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked the storyline and the setting. Cast did a great job... all except one. I just did not care for Carol Burnett in this film. Which is weird since I used to enjoy her years ago. But something bugged me about her in this one. Not the character mind you... but Carol Burnett herself. This one definitely worth the time put in to watch it.

My Thoughts:
Well, i bought this movie just because of Jennifer Aniston. Its nice to see her play in something other than the comedies she usually plays in! And i have to admit that i got a thing for Jennifer Aniston, had it since her Friends days. And i'll be honest with you guys, it isnt a movie for everybody. Its a dark movie in alot of ways. But i really liked it because of Jennifer Aniston. And let me just say that Jennifer Aniston plays the role of her life in this movie. Best performance from her so far in her career. If you are a fan of Jennifer Aniston, this a must see. Never seen her better! Amazing.

My Thoughts:
Well, that was a fun ride i guess. I got recommanded this movie from a family member. Who really love this movie, so i decided to give it a try. And it is a cool car-chase movie. Old but still fairly decent though. Had some good scenes trough-out, and some good chases too. BUT they could have done just a bit more with the cool cars and the chases IMHO, to make this a really GREAT movie. Not a bad movie at all, but not the best i've seen either. But worth a look for a cheap penny. And this blurayset got some cool extras aswell.

I didn't know what to expect going into this one... but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They made this remake right...changing it enough to be viewed as a different film, but yet making enough of it the same to pay a good homage to the original. I really liked the entire cast in this one. The story line was well done and kept my attention through-out with ease. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone that is a fan of the original.

My Thoughts:
Wow, first off i just have to say that this is one of the best documentaries i've seen. Top notch! What a sad story this really is, and what a shame it all is. Amy Whinehouse had one of the best Jazz voices out there. And she had it all, fame, money a great career. But she had really bad people around her that just used her for the money and the fame. And the started with the drugs, and after that it all fell apart. Really sad to see how drugs happy funtimes you up. And as everyone knows she died way to early because of her lifestyle. What a shame, and what a waste of talent. I feel real sorry for her when i see what happened to her. People do the most messed up things when it comes to money and drugs. Sad. If you like music, or Amy this is a must watch. And this blurayset have some real cool extras too.

My Thoughts:

I watched this one last night on Amazon Prime. Watching it I don't know that I personally would consider this one a musical but both Amazon Prime and IMDB has it listed as a Musical Comedy. I must say I just wasn't that impressed with this film. I am actually surprised how high the rating for it is on IMDB. I personally didn't find it very funny or very musical. But there is a fair share of music in it so I am including it in the marathon. Though this is not one I see the need to ever watch again. See no sense in adding this one to my collection.

My Thoughts:

This one I really liked the story line and I felt the cast all did a fine job. I find it well worth the time put in to watch it. Compared to the original? While that is something I don't normally like to do I will say this one seems to over explain the plot...more in your face. Has the viewers in general really lost that much of an attention span that everything must be explained step by step? Over-all I feel comfortable recommending this one.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
