My Thoughts:
I hadnt seen this one in ages, and today suddenly wanted to check it out again for some reason. And it was as good as i rememberd it to be. First of, the transfer to HD is great. The picture and sound is amazing. And ofc the movie is a great and intense thriller with a great Mr.Douglas as the crazy cop. And Sharon Stone as a coldblooded killer (?) I think i could watch this over and over again. Just a true masterpiece, and ofc highly recommanded!

I just watched Abbott & Costello in Little Giant. In this one Costello plays a country hick that gets a job selling vacuum cleaners. This one is pretty good... but far from the best Abbott & Costello film I have seen. It has a few good laughs in it... but not so much that I could recommend this one all that strongly. I would say average at best.

Title: Maniac
Year: 2012
Director: Franck Khalfoun
Rating: NR
Length: 89 Min.
Video: Widescreen 2.40:1
Audio: Engelsk: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1, Engelsk: PCM: 2-Channel Stereo, Kommentar: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles: Engelsk, Spansk

Stars:
Nora Arnezeder
Genevieve Alexandra
Brian Ames
Liane Balaban
Jan Broberg
Aaron Colom

Plot:
Frank (Elijah Wood, The Lord of the Rings) leads a deceptively peaceful life: to the outside world, he's a withdrawn and somewhat eccentric owner of a mannequin store. But his quiet façade masks an inner rage that forces him to brutally kill the women who manage to get too close to him. When a young artist named Anna (Nora Arnezeder, Safe House) appears one day at Frank's shop and asks for his help with her new exhibition, Frank develops an obsession with her that threatens to completely destroy his already fragile psyche. Soon the streets become unsafe for any woman after dark as this newly-awakened maniac begins to stalk and kill. Based on the classic 1980 shocker, MANIAC is an intimate, visually daring, psychologically complex and profoundly horrific trip into the downward spiraling nightmare of a killer and his victims.

My Thoughts:
Uhm, that was just weird.. I actually bought this movie because of Elijah Wood as a creepy serialkiller. Havent seen him play any roles like that before. But the whole thing was just weird. The whole movie was filmed POV style from 'Elijah Wood's POV' not like a handheld camera like the Paranormal movies' just plain POV. I dont understand why they did that? Didnt work. And the story was weak. And they could have done so much more to make this horror movie a real good one. IMHO they failed. Keep away from this one.

My Thoughts:

I picked this one up at the library today. I have always liked the old Herbie movies... and ths one is no different. Sure it isn't something that will go down in cinema history... but it is a whole lot of fun. And lets face it... sometimes that is all you need from a film. I think my favorite scene of the movie has to be Herbie in the demolition derby. This is one film I hope to add to my collection before too long.

My Thoughts:
Well, wtf? To be complete honest, this movie was just weird. I've had this in my unwatched pile forever, i dont even know why i bought it. Guess it was a blind buy. I just didnt get the point with this movie at all. There was some moments, and Mr.Douglas did a good job as almost always. I'm 100% serious when i asked this question now (i'm still confused) but for you guys that have seen this. What was the story and the point with this movie? I still dont get it really.

Sure there was a couple decent jump scenes... but that is about it. I am looking forward to adding this one to my collection before too long.

My Thoughts:

This is another one I borrowed from the library. The first thing I did was watch the trailer for the film. Going by the trailer... I must admit I was a little concerned if I would like this one or not. But it didn't take long at all for me to get into the story. Before I knew it I was enjoying it quite a bit. Now compared to the other X-Men films... I must say this one is probably my least favorite. But don't take that wrong... this one is still well worth the time put in to watch it. I just prefer the others a little more. But this is one I hope to add to my collection before too long.

Title: Lovelace
Year: 2013
Director: Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman
Rating: 18
Length: 93 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: Engelsk: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1
Subtitles: Engelsk

Stars:
Amanda Seyfried
Peter Sarsgaard
Sharon Stone (1958)
Robert Patrick (1958)
Juno Temple
Chris Noth

Plot:
In 1972, before the internet, before the explosion of the adult film industry, Deep Throat was a phenomenon and introduced the world to an unknown and unlikely star: Linda Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried; Les Miserables). Escaping a strict religious family, Linda discovered freedom and the high life when she fell for and married charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard; TV's The Killing). As "Linda Lovelace" she became an international sensation - a charming girl-next-door with some 'impressive skills'. Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became an enthusiastic spokesperson for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world - and herself, as the survivor of a far darker story.

The all-star cast includes: Emmy Award winner Hank Azaria (The Simpsons), BAFTA winner Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), Adam Brody (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World), Academy Award nominees James Franco (127 Hours), Golden Globe nominee Chris Noth (Sex & The City), Emmy Winner Bobby Cannavale (TV's Nurse Jackie), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games), Robert Patrick (Gangster Squad), Debi Mazar (Collateral), Eric Roberts (The Expendables), Academy Award nominee Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct) and Academy Award nominee Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don't Cry).

Extras:

Digital Copy

My Thoughts:
Well, first of i have to say that i have never seen 'Deep Throat' and i never will. But i heard the stories and when this movie was going to be made (With Linsey Lohan at first) i wanted to check it out, to see what it was all about. Its a strong movie, and a sad movie to watch. And get a good look behind the scenes what the sorry excuse of a husband forced her to do. And Amanda Seyfried did a good job as Linda Lovelace IMHO. Recommanded to check out.

My Thoughts:
Well, that was actually a great movie. A movie about with alot of power, dirty cops. And how drugs happy funtimes you up really. Doesnt matter if you work with the president or you are a lowlife. And the solid cast in this one delivered a great performance. Wich i kinda expected with names like Del Toro, Douglas, Zeta Jones (nice to see her again) Dont do that too often these days. A great thriller trough and trough, with a bit of runningtime but you dont even notice that before the movies is over. This is ofc recommanded!

My Thoughts:

I picked this one up used at a convenience store a couple months ago. I picked it up cheap.. less then a dollar. Other then the Olsen Twins... this one also has Jared Padalecki (Supernatural). To be honest with you... when I picked this one up I really wasn't expecting too much from it. Then when I watched the trailer I saw some potential... but still didn't expect too much. After watching it I can say it had it's moments... but for the most part I have to say below average. Kinda the Olsen Twin's answer to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. As little as I paid for it (less then $1)... I really can't complain. But it isn't one I could recommend. Best I would say is if you are bored one day and can see this one for free.... well then there is worse things you can watch. But there is also plenty of better things that could be watched as well.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
