"Google chief Eric Schmidt said the internet giant's Android mobile operating system is now being used on 26 phone models and 60,000 phones using Android are sold every day.

"There are 26 devices with 59 operators, in 48 countries, in 19 languages so far and it's just the beginning," Eric Schmidt said at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

"We are now shipping more than 60,000 Android devices ... per day and this number doubled over the last quarter," he said.

"Obviously, the growth rate is accelerating and we hope that this growth rate will continue for very long time," he added."

Add me to the request. Android is the way to go (at least for the next few years).

It shouldn't be that big of a port, considering Java is a rather simple computer language and the mobile profiler application doesn't have to interface with anything fancy (like GPS).  The ability to "add to my collection" by using the phone as a bar code reader would be cool, along with remote "either way" synchronization between the phone, computer, and MyCollection website.

As a marketing strategy, I would offer the mobile application free and put it on the free Android Marketplace. However in order to take advantage of data synchronization to/from your computer, you must possess a paid license to the PC version of DVD Profiler and have a registered account.  In other words, instead of expecting to make a heap load of money from the mobile version, I would leverage the mobile version to sell more PC DVD Profiler licenses.  Marketing 101 folks.

Just go thte Droid.  I also have held out from switching from Verizon.  I used to have AT&T; it was awful.

I would gladly pay extra for an Android mobile version of DVD profiler.  I'm dying that I don't have my database on a mobile device.

PLEASE, develop this for so many of us that want it!!!

Personally a Symbian user, but IMO the best solution for everyone would be a mobi version of the coming soon DVDP online+. Since most smart phones are rather useless without internet, it could be used on all OS's that support flash. And since its already being developed, it would take much less effort to make a second layout then to make a completely new program.

Guys, with such a wonderful program, there should be an Android supporting program. Hey DVDP developers... This is definitely a must from such an innovative company

As for the book, I find it a relieve it isn't "Android for Dummies" (though the Dummies-books are usually quite good - I just went through "Joomla for Dummies" and "Drupal for Dummies" - and ended up installing Drupal for my current web-project)...
