| Posted: | | | | Removing possessives that ARE NOT part of the title DOES NOT mess up sorting. At least not for me. That is what the SORT TITLE field everyone's local database is for. I generally have to change the SORT TITLE field on every TV Series profile I download, otherwise Season Two is sorted after Season Three unless I change the Sort title to Season 2 and 3 respectively. I don't complain or want the rules changed to have season titles use numbers instead. Does it annoy me that I have to make this change every time? A little, but I don't feel I should try and force my preference on the community as a whole, when my preference isn't supported by the way things are done. | | | Chris |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure what this argument is about, and I really don't frankly care to read the posts...but this movie has ALWAYS been billed as "Stephen King's It" from the very first time it was televised. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?
No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.
I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose… Rapture." |

Skip Um....what? You've always went by the film itself. Since when are you going by the copyright office? You can't change your source mid-stream. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

Um....what?
You've always went by the film itself. Since when are you going by the copyright office? You can't change your source mid-stream. I thought it was always, "You shouldn't change horses in mid-stream." Sorry I couldn't resist. I believe that quote is from "Wag the Dog." | | | We're on a mission from God.

| Posted: | | | | Why did this thread go five pages? This is incredibly simple. I was wrong, as well. The rule says: Quote: # Include possessives if the front cover includes them, and if they are verifiably part of the title. If quotes surround the title in the credit block (generally on the back cover), check whether the possessive is within the quotes. In the absence of quotes to verify, check the font size used for the title on the front cover. Generally, possessives which use a significantly smaller font are not part of the title. # Possessive examples: "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride", John Carpenter's "The Thing". In each case, the portion within quotes is the title. Checking the back of my copy, it says Quote: Stephen King's "It" Therefore, the title is "It". Simple. Easy. Period. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

I am simply doing what you have always done, that is my interpretation of the rules and just like YOU there is no room for any other. I am tired of watching you twist and spin the Rules to suit your whims. YTou went off the cliff a long time agoi, my friend. as i said this is not a game I want to play, but your attitude and that of others have forced it. I could throw all kinds of things at you, James but its a waste of time and energy. In your mind ther is and always has been ONE single answer, and it is yours, I continue to lead by example, my Contributions always have been and will Continue to be among the highest caliber and best documented there are. Sorry guys, I didn't ask for this YOU have pushed me to it.
Skip After the initial contribution of profiles here at Invelos, I have had exactly one decline. It was an issue of how to deal with unmarked uncredited. I've adjusted how I handle those and have had complete success ever since. On every single contribution of mine for which you have voted 'no', they have all been accepted. You like to talk facts instead of fiction. There it is. I'm not the one that went over the cliff. And we didn't push you. You jumped quite inexplicably. Oh, well. | | | ...James

I am fed up with watching you people interpret the REules to suit yourselves. and the act like YOUR interpretation is the ONLY interpretation there could possibly be James you have been doing this for a very long time, DO NOT was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.
I have simply decided to play the game YOUR way, so like I said LIVE BY THE SWORD, now DIE BY IT.
Skip You are playing by your own rules...something you have always done. There is only one interpretation to this rule. I have given you rational, logical, reasons to show how your interpretation is incorrect. You have yet to respond in kind. You constantly say that you are up for civil, logical, debate. Weill, here is your chance. Put up or shut up. Give us a logical reason as to why your interpretation is the correct one. I don't believe you can, but I am willing to be surprised. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | This was actually quite fun to read for the first few pages, but now it's just plain pointless. I'm beginning to understand why so many of us newcomers tend to keep quiet here in the forums... |

Skip But, Ken has not asked us to enter the "Copyrighted Title" into the title field. He said "ENTER THE TITLE FROM THE FRONT COVER". For posssesives he said "TO CHECK THE CREDIT BLOCK ON THE BACK COVER". No where has he said to check the Copyright Office for anything. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | OK let's look at some blatant and outright HYPOCRISY displayed by many here. Why do I say many...because many of you participated in the DO NOT issue. The Rule is clear, but it was twisted and spun to allow for a 4 cent change in SRP, despite the prohibition under the guise of....ACCURACY after all the user had ontained THE SRP from the Distributor. So we MUST have an ACCURATE SRP but NOT an ACCURATE title....sorry peopple it doesn't washand it is hypocritical to pretend otherwise. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it.
