Passangers - While entertaining... the film left some to be desired. But Wow! the visuals and and sound... fantastic!
Justice League - I prefered the movie over Passangers... and while looking and sounding great Passangers had it beat. When I went over to UHD, Passengers was one of the first films I upgraded. It looks amazing on BD but on UHD I agree, it looks (and sounds) stunning; (and it's not just because of Jennifer Lawrence's endlessly changing wardrobe either). If I had any friends who wanted to find out what 4K is like, it would be my go to film I think. I bought Watchman (the Ultimate Cut) on UHD recently, but haven't watched it yet. That was amazing on BD so I'll be interested to see how much better it (hopefully) gets. I love reading your posts, they're always so enthusiastic and positive! PS And my Jennifer Lawrence claim to fame? I look after the garden (I work as a gardener part-time) for the parents of someone who's slept with JL in a film. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | I personally love 4K and 3D. I have 289 4K and 220 3D. I bought Passengers 3 years ago and it has 4K and 3D in the same package. There are only a few of those out there, I have 8 and have had to resort to going out of the country for 1 of those. Buying 4K and 3D separately usually ends up costing about $45 to $60. Surprisingly, the 4K and 3D combos are mostly at regular prices, but can be a little more expensive. I have probably watched Passengers about 15 times about half and half between 4K and 3D.
4K visually and the Atmos and DTSX soundtracks are incredible, Atmos having the edge. It's a whole new world of film with 4K. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

Wanna cry in 4K UHD? Watch Alita. She's so cute! And I have it everywhere. It is one of those 3D, 4K, BD everything including VUDU streaming. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | We also own Alita with everything. I should have mentioned we have a Vudu account with 523 digital movies. Last night we bought Jumanji: The Next Level including the 4K disc for $27.96 plus tax from Vudu so we could watch it before Tuesday's release. The disc(s) will be sent to the house with free shipping. This was the first time buying the disc from Vudu. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

So for stuff I care about, I usually get the VUDU "digital + disc" option that you are referring to. I like being able to watch the digital immediately, then 1 or 2 days later, I get the disc from Walmart. This results in duplicate digital copies (one in VUDU and the other code inside the disc package.) One day I might give away some extras here. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Quite some time ago, I tried to give away digital copies here on ones I replaced with a newer version and I never got any takers, so I stopped keeping a list of ones I didn't use.
I'm a huge fan of physical media, especially because the audio and video are a little better from the discs and as you say, you never know when the digital sites might disappear.
I apologize to Pete as this is his thread...not mine. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. | | | Last edited: by mreeder50 |

| Posted: | | | | Wow, I still have less than 40. Guess paying two or three times the price of regular blu-rays don't appeal to me much, unless it's something I really really want. Gonna buy the Star Wars OT though. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
