IIt would present the title as it appears on the cover, you can't hide behind the Sort title any longer because the Original Title field affects NOTHING.

| Posted: | | | | I just chose 'Te Birds' because it was the first that came to mind. Insert whatever '[Title that appears in quotes]' you like. Anyway, I find it interesting that Skip places such emphasis on 'accuracy', yet 'accuracy' seems to be as subjective a term as the alternatives that the majority (based on voting here) seem to prefer. Without my questions being answered, I think that any debate on the matter (and a great-many other topics) is at a stand-still with 'accuracy' looking to be a distant second. Of course, I agree with having an on-line database of use to as many as possible, and I think it highly likely that the vast majority of users will make no profile adjustments to their local database. I'm just sick of seeing so many arguments that basically boil down to "your way is (a widely shared) personal preference based upon circumstantial or no evidence, my way is literal, therefore accurate, and so I'm right." I'm of the opinion that a 'spade' should be called a 'feather duster' if that's what the majority would find most useful. Stuart P.S. You always talk about Fictional data referring to the Title without quotes. That has me really confused. Let's say I see: "Achim's movie" How is writing: Achim's movie fictional? I guess the Original Title field was originally designed just for foreign movies. As a side note, I hope we get one more title field just for AKAs, original theatrical title, and the like. | | | -- Enry |

Or should we simply get input fields that can contain images and we make screenshots of the title and the credits? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

I guess the Original Title field was originally designed just for foreign movies. As a side note, I hope we get one more title field just for AKAs, original theatrical title, and the like. IMHO, it was designed to let us track both the DVD title (note that what we refer to as the "title" field is actually called "DVD Title" in DVD Profiler itself) and the actual film title (= the title from the credits). We can talk about this for pages and pages, but (again, IMHO) it really is that simple. So I'd say we already have a field for original theatrical title. It's called "original title. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | It took me a while, but I finally came across an example of a title that would include quotes, "Crocodile" Dundee. Both the first and second film clearly quote Crocodile in the title as a nickname. Strangely, the third film drops the quotes. Regardless, I knew I'd find one if I just dug deep enough. |

Skip As paying users of the database they have just as much right as you do to voice their opinions on this or any other topic. You do very little work on profiles that are from outside of the main 'Hollywood' system. Your way of looking are the data often breaks when it runs into non-English language films or even small US non-Hollywood films. This program and its database is for all its users and each of them has a right to express how they would like to see it work. | Posted: | | | | wow.... even when I don't post "vocally" on a subject I get attacked. Feel free to check my last posts You'll find I have very little to say on the subject, but why let the fact's get in the way. It is a typical response I guess that has been used for quite some time. I should be used to it by now. Funny, both Andy and I have Skip blocked and almost never reply to him anymore yet we are still 2 of his three favorite targets. Guess if I'm a target I should at least earn it Quoting PDF: Quote: As paying users of the database they have just as much right as you do to voice their opinions on this or any other topic. Speaking of which... I find it very amusing that most vocal person on the forum has yet to pony up the $19.95 to invest in Invelos Positively pathetic that anyone with over 3000 DVDs can't find 20 bucks to support this program I and others know that the $24.95 we spent many years ago is long gone and we were happy to give Invelos more of our hard earned cash. Get off the sidelines and support the program for a change. If the shoe fits, wear it. please note this post is addressed at the one person who continously calls others out for "not doing anything" and not at all you other freeloaders... No, it wasn't designed just for foreign movies. As the example in the rule shows, it was designed for modified titles as well. I just don't consider the use of quotes to be a modified title. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
