I DID say "PC gamers will eat this up."  If you look from the aspect of just NEXT-GEN consoles, that would mean the people that has or planning on getting the associated next-gen console.

Ex. I'm a PC gamer.  I had a X360 and now I have a PS3.  I am eating this keyboard and mouse announcement up, because of the amount of control I will have in this game.

Understand now?

No, I think you are reaching.  I am also a PC gamer...which means I play a majority of my games on the PC as I am sure most PC gamers do.  The keyboard and mouse announcement doesn't peak my interest one bit.  If the game is available on the PC, that is where I am going to play it.

Then they have THINGS LIKE THIS to worry about at MS.

Why would Microsoft worry about that?  It is one store.  I was in Best Buy on Tuesday and they still had their nice pile of PS3s sitting on the floor just like they did the week before.  The $100 price cut will attract some people but there are still those that won't buy one because there aren't enough titles out.

Target Online

You can find the $499 ones in stores though.

As far as titles, I have 15 so far.  I think I will pick up the title DiRT.  The developer said the frames rates are better (and as reported by others...doesn't tear like the X360 version).  Plus, he said the PS3 version has 7.1 uncompressed audio!

Here is the video of the developer talking about the PS3 version.

Not me.  If I have a chance to play with keyboard and mouse controls on my 70" TV and 7.1 set-up via a console, that's where I will play it.

At $500 dollars and still a scant collection of titles available for the PS3, I will still wait and see what happens over the holiday before I rush out to grab a PS3!!!

Don't get me wrong, eventually I want one, but Killzone 2 and MGS 4 don't thrill me enough to warrant buying one NOW.

As far as MGS4 goes, hell I prefer Splinter Cell over Metal Gear anyway!!!  Isn't the next Splinter Cell an XBOX 360 exclusive???  Doesn't Splinter Cell offer some of the best online multiplayer game play available on any console, along with the HALO titles!!!  Oh wait, SONY is not known as of yet for great online game play, my bad!!!

By all accounts I have seen so far, most reporters are saying that SONY didn't show enough at their press conference to truly inspire anyone to believe that they will overcome XBOX's current lead in the console war.  As for the Wii, I keep reading that Nintendo seriously dropped the ball at their press conference.

If I have $500 dollars burning in my pocket right now and I am in the market for a game console I am buying an XBOX 360, followed by the Wii.  PS3 isn't even in the game in my opinion at $500 because the software titles out there don't interest me!!!

Let's see what the holiday season brings.  Oh and curious did SONY say that the PS3 would support any standard USB keyboard and mouse, or will it require a proprietary PS3 keyboard and mouse???
My Collection!!!

In my book that makes you a Console Gamer, not a PC gamer.

That being said, I can do the same with my PC games...my computer was designed to interface quite nicely with my TV and sound system...I just never felt the need to use it for playing games.

Actually, most think Sony won E3 for best conference showing.

Of course the other stuff is your opinion/decision.  Personally, I choose things based on the brightest future.

The PS3 definitely support keyboard and mouse (USB, RF, and Bluetooth).  Just about maker of these will do.

My question is who wouldn't want a cheaper product?  It's human nature.

I definitely phrased that wrong.  I was trying to say who doesn't want their favorite product to be cheaper.  It's human nature.

Brightest future is not a selling point when it comes to game consoles, just look at the facts, unlike the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD format war, one console will not beat out the other, so there really isn't a wrong decision.  I and others, can buy the XBOX 360 now while it is hot and has excellent titles available, now and upcoming this holiday, and STILL buy a PS3 over the holiday and STILL enjoy whatever future both it and the XBOX 360 have!!!

I own an XBOX, a Playstation, a PS2, an N64, a Gamecube, and several older 16 bit consoles and I don't see myself ever deciding to ONLY buy Sony or Nintendo or Microsoft.

I believe I said this once before on these forums and I will say it again, I am not an early adapter of new technology.  I sit and wait and let other people Beta test these new products and work out the bugs and the kinks and then through thorough research I buy the product that will offer the best entertainment experience and the best value for my hard earned dollar.  Lucky for me even if I wait until next Christmas to buy a PS3, XBOX 360, or a Wii, I still can, and maybe just maybe they will be cheaper and there will be great titles available for each console system!!!

Well said indeed.  The PS3 is my first Playstation.  I have had just about every other console out since the Atari 2600.  I was thinking about a Wii, but only 2 of the games appeal to me.

The games I plan on getting on the PS3 this year are:

Lair (already paid for)
Heavenly Sword (already paid for)
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (already paid for)
Warhawk
Burnout Paradise
Assassin's Creed
Unreal Tournament 3
Call of Duty 4
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Haze
Devil May Cry 4
DiRT
GTA IV
Rock Band
SOCOM: Confrontation
Army of Two

As you can see, I will be VERY busy with PS3 games this year.  Now, I have to figure out where all this money is going to come from!   @Home should be out in October.  That will allow me to launch any game with my friends directly from my "Home" apartment.  Great stuff!

Not to mention all the Blu-ray movies I'll be picking up as well...

I enjoyed Resistance: Fall of Man (played it on a friends PS3) however Gears of War is just better in my opinion (again played it on friends XBOX 360).

Having friends who are early adapters also helps greatly in formulating a decision on which console(S) I should buy.

Personally, I think they both have their pluses and minuses. I think GoW is definitely the much better graphically.  I think RFoM definitely has a much larger environment and more people can play online basically lag free (up to 40 players).

So far I have the following PS3 games:

Resistance
Ridge Racer 7
Blazing Angels
Full Auto 2
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Fomula 1 Championship Ed.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Motorstorm
NBA Street Homecourt
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Spiderman 3 Collector's Ed.
Virtua Fighter 5
Def Jam Icon
Call of Duty 3
The Darkness

In my last post, I forgot to mention that I would probably get Folklore and Stranglehold: Collector's Edition too.
