| Posted: | | | | For us Mac users who use itunes on the mac and DVD Profiler under windows as a Virtual Machine, the ability to synch to the iPhone, either via a database export or wireless or whatever.
This may not even be an issue, but I'm just putting it out there cause there's no word on how DVD Profiler Windows will be in synch with the iphone version.
Thanks | | | |

| Posted: | | | | Good point xjames, I am also using Windows in a VM (only to run DVD Profiler...).
But I guess the software is always handled through iTunes, that should be the same in Windows. I have some other Apps that also sync files from my Mac to the iPhone wirelessly. I would expect DVD Profiler to work the same. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | Available? #1 Feature?
We'll take bugs, we'll take missing features . . . just AVAILABLE.
PLEASE?????
--Okay, redline-esque barcode scanner FTW. Honestly, if I could just add new titles with my iphone/easily view my collection, I'd be a darned happy camper.

PS: AVAILABLE! |

| Posted: | | | | Can't ... wait ... for ... this! The only thing I would like to see is a way to sync that avoids my PC. Basically my setup is as follows, I've got an OOOOOOOLD desktop PC that runs DVD Profiler and a fairly modern MacBook, I sync my iPhone and iPad with the MacBook. Would prefer to not have to install iTunes on my PC. Aside from that ... can't ... wait ... for ... this!!! | | | Last edited: by muskyinoz |

| Posted: | | | | Will there be a trial version of 'DVDP for iPhone'?
I don't currently own an iPhone/iPad/iTouch but I've been thinking of getting an iTouch to replace my Zune and if this new version is the dogs danglies that could tip the scales.
If there was a trail, I could get a friend with an iPhone to get it so I could check it out before buying an iTouch. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm super excited for this, and I hope I'm not too late for suggestions: - The biggest hope I have is that any syncing that needs to take place can be done via WiFi with the DVD Profiler desktop programs or over the internet via our online collections. I just hope that iTunes doesn't enter the equation here, because there's a lot of us that sync our iPhones, iPod Touchs, and iPads solely with a Mac. - Some ability to use the iPhone's camera as a bar code scanner. I realize this feature would leave out iPod Touc & iPad users, but we'll eventually see camera(s) in those devices (probably within the next year). - The ability to leverage the iPhone's Contact list for dealing with DVD loans. I know 3rd party apps can take advantage of the contacts stored on the device, and it would be great if we set up loans, time tables, AND email reminders directly from the device. Click a DVD, select loan, it'll ask you if the person is in your contact list, if so you pick the name and an email address and BAM, everything is done. - I'm not sure how much of each DVD's data will be stored on this mobile program but I'd love some advanced search capability for title, genres, actors, crew, etc. I'd love on-the-fly filtering within search. - Some have suggested coverflow, but I prefer the full screen cover swipe the mobile app has now. Maybe both? Coverflow would look better on the bigger iPad, but I'd prefer the former on the smaller screed iPhone. - DVD Pick, Watched By, Review Scores, Price, Purchase Place (and creating new purchase places) etc. should all be accessible and editable on device. We're much more likely to have these devices with us while watching something than the desktop or laptop DVD Profiler is installed on. - Someone suggested a work offline mode. I doubt very much that using this will require a internet connection for simply browsing your collection, but just in case... I REALLY WANT a work offline mode. |

| Posted: | | | | I would love to see connectivity with the Mainlobby suite... some sort of plugin would be great. Would probably have to run through wifi, but should be easy enough to do. Their scripting language is pretty basic. I have an app that sends magic packets to wake up my theater pc, so I'm pretty sure an app could be created to send some sort of message to a port at an IP. |

| Posted: | | | | Here is what I expect of the iPhone's app (a lot have already been suggested I guess) : - I want to be able to sync my over internet (wifi or 3G). I have DVD profiler on Parallel (a virtual machine on macOSX) - I want to be able to consult my collection even if I'm not online (collection number, personal reviews, cast, who have see the movie and who have my disk in his apartment) - I want to be able to read a review or a media content of a media I don't already have. (I don't care if I've to do that online). - I would like to be able to use the iPhone's camera to scan bar code and add the scanned disks to my database ( with the online sync ). If you need some beta tester, I'm available... | | | __/ CHRIS CB \_______ __ _ _ _ http://www.chriscb.org |

| Posted: | | | | The most important part of this program will be the fact that you can "take it with you". To that end, it will be used most to:
1. Check and see what titles you already have. 2. Check and see which titles you already like/dislike 3. Make decisions on purchasing/borrowing new titles.
As such, the ability to scan a barcode and place something in your wish list will be invaluable. The ability to automatically check pricing through an engine such as www.DVDPricesearch.com would also be invaluable.
Please consider these for version 1 or subsequent versions as well.
Also, a discount for existing Windows Mobile users willing to "convert" their license for the iPhone license would also be a great move. Not asking for much, just a token.
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | The main basic features i'd love to see with the new app would be: Having my database with me everywhere (with coverscane), not needing an internet connection to view these. Filter and search my DVD database to check that i'm buying a duplicate title. Thumbnail backgrounds to image view (the wood grain one is fantastic and looks great) Thats really everything i would like.. the extra bonuses for me would be Being able to upload/download/update my online collection file over WIFI/3G. Update the Loaned to/returned status of titles. Thumbnail backgrounds to image view (just add that one again because it makes things look fantastic) And iPhone camera barcode scanner would be nice, but not necessary. I think initially you only need really basic functionality, have your listing on the iphone (i'd like it in a nice thumbnail view) and be able to search through it. That would do it for me. Anything else as far as i'm concerned is a bonus to have. I'm really looking forward to this release, and like everyone else, I would gladly do any beta testing. |

| Posted: | | | | I cant wait for this, been hanging for it since it was announce in development.
I agree with the other people who have said "lets see what you have put in it first", then we can make some suggestions on new features. Im sure it will be awesome anyway
If this is out in time for us Aussies to get our iPads, then i will be very happy indeed
Looking forward to-
*Having my collection on my iPhone wherever i go *Being able to add titles when out and about (although this would be limited by how much data needs to be downloaded) *having it on my soon to be purchased iPad *Being able to update watched info etc when not at my computer
cant wait for the release (hopefully not long now) |

| Posted: | | | | The problem with Boxee is that it's interface is pretty limited currently to just directional and action. I do hope they expand it's capabilities! |
