Without a lot of manual work it's no good at this point for the majority of cases. Quote: Why should a credit count more, simply because it's from a more popular film? Maybe it shouldn't, but until we get good title numbers (or Ken drops one of the two numbers) it's the best we have. I just did a quick CLT scan of the 12 titles i have (4 - Lon; 8 - Lon E.) and the four Lon titles and six of the eight Lon E. were correct for all profiles. That is i didn't find any profiles incorrectly using Lon E. Two of the Lon E. titles had a few Lon profiles. Much cleaner (not IMDB influenced) than i expected. | | | Bad movie? On the DVD is David Chappelle. On the BD is Dave Chappelle.
One title, two names. Admittedly rare but... | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

One title, two names. Admittedly rare but... That is not an argument for counting profiles. If we're counting titles, which I'm convinced is what "most commonly credited" means, 'Con Air' would be in each name variants' lists, and as such, the different credits would not be mis-represented. Again, Ken didn't say: use the name variant that someone is credited with in the few movies that have the largest number of copies in the database. He said: use "the most commonly credited name". To me, that indicates the number of different titles. 'Con Air' would qualify as 1 title for each name variant. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

That's the way I read it too: we're meant to count credits, and the closest to that is counting titles not profiles. It may be harder but that doesn't mean it's not the way to do it. But ideally, Ken should tell us which numbers he wants us to use: titles or profiles. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

Skip The "Oy" part was i realized this morning the DVD credit is Dave Chappelle [David Chappelle]and the BD credit is David Chappelle [Dave Chappelle]. Don't know what i was smokin' that day but i did this to myself. Need to fix that tonight (the BD is correct). | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting ninehours: Quote: Yes the CLT gives very unreliable results for him There again, you will find that the CLT proudly declares the IMDb-name as the "winner"... The lack of a comma preceding the suffix and the single quotation marks to indicate a nickname are both typical IMDb-standards, that aren't used so much in actual credits. Theoretically, Tom "Tiny" Lister, Jr. would be more likely... It'll probably take years before enough profiles will have been corrected to the "as credited" status before we're going to get a solid indication of what the most-credited form REALLY is. I tried to clear up the Lon (E.) Bender issue here; I'll try to deal with Mr. Lister some other time. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | As Per the CLT "Tom 'Tiny' Lister Jr." is credited in the following 155 titles (348 profiles): Last time i checked there were at least 14 name variations for him (probably more) |
