but its always been known that the players can't be updated except for the PS3?
I can update the firmware on my Panasonic Blu-Ray player

A firmware update is not going to be able to add an ethernet connection to a machine that doesn't have one.

exactly. Which is why the players can't be updated except for the PS3 to blu ray profile 2.0

There is at least one 1.1 BD player out there that does in fact have an ethernet port. These could potentially be upgraded to 2.0.

No Kidding, I think I know somthing about electronics between a firmware update and a hardware ubdate.

I was only making a comment about this and I thought he was talk about a firmware update.
