Skip Well bully for you, have a lolly-pop. I find it a tad self centered to believe that something that doesn't cofuse you shouldn't cofuse anybody else. If you don't like these 'rehashed' subjects, I have a suggestion for you...don't read them. On page one you stated that Lopek "has NOTHING of value to add to any discussion in the forums.." Well, you have yet to add anything of value to this discussion. Back to the issue at hand, calling a field one thing and telling people to enter something completely different into it, is confusing. It is like telling people to enter the price paid in the SRP field or to enter the cast list into the crew section. It doesn't make any sense. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting VibroCount: Quote: The original theatrical release of The Big Sleep was 1945. There's even a documentary on the DVD titled "The Big Sleep Comparisons 1945/1946". Yet the "Production Date" is 1946, no matter how many times anyone's tried to change it. The credits on the 1945 edit on the B-side of the disc are taken directly from the 1946 release, with Bacall's name as big as Bogart's, and with an incorrect 1946 copyright date. In my local db I have 2 profiles for The Big Sleep, one for each version. I've made the 1945 prerelease version as a child profile of the 1946 version. Other examples of production year weirdness: Fantasia 2000 - Premiered in 1999, copyright 1999; we use 2000.Blue Sky - Filmed in 1991, copyright 1991, the director died in 1991, released in 1994; we use 1994. | | | ...James

Maybe you are right, that would be the simplest solution... whatever the rules say now or even if they are changed in the future. | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | I was just thinking about this very topic before I came across it here on the boards. I was sure that The Graduate came out in 1968 as the soundtrack for the film was released in 1968, which always made me think 1968. The jacket art does say 1967, but Wikipedia says Jan 1968 and IMDB says - New York City Dec 21 1967 ( not really that big of a release to one city world wide).,
But I do agree that what ever the release date is.. it is for the Academy and its annual Awards and all that, so 1967 it is. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
