Nope, not losing your mind.  I think the point he was trying to make is that people are bypassing the filter and just entering J. J. Abrams skewing the CLT results.  Now I haven't tried it, but I guess that could mess up someone trying to contribute 'J.J. Abrams [Jeffrey Abrams]' .

If someone enters "J.J. Abrams [Jeffrey Abrams]" the filter will convert it to "J. J. Abrams [Jeffrey Abrams]"

In all cases when you enter in J.J.//Abrams into the common name field the common name gets converted by the filter to J./J./Abrams.

So when you enter in J.J.//Abrams it will never that way in the online database.  But the screen credit will always be preserved by the filter.

Now Ken deleted the Filter making the spaces. So you can now change it again everywhere to J.J. Abrams and it will work, his real common name.

just cotributed another Lost profile with just J.J. Abrams to match screen credit and the auto-filter still adds J. J. Abrams.
