- At the moment you have "Booklet" entries in some profiles Other Features field. - Next release of DVDP may contain check box for booklet and you wan't to move that info from Other Features field to new check box.
Am I even close?? If yes, why don't you just filter those profiles which has booklet in their Other features and fix them. The point I don't get is why to take locks in this equation? No... not exactly what I am saying. 1. I buy a DVD set... it originally came with a book ( IE: My So-Called Life: Complete Series Originally came with a 36 page book ) Now I got my copy of My So-Called Life used... and it was missing the 36 page book. So I removed 36 page book from Other Features.... and lock the Features. 2. Ken does an update. In this update he adds to the Features. I don't know what... just for an example he adds a check box for "Play All". 3. Now I haven't watched yet... but say My So-Called Life has the Play All function. If I Just accept the update it would return the 36 page book I removed. So in my eyes... it is better to be able to see what all profiles I have that has the features locked, this way I can say when a new feature is added... filter on the lock for Features.. and fix any profiles then and there without having to worry about it messing up the reason I locked the features in the first place. I hope that is more clear about what I was trying to say. | | | Pete |

But flagging "Hide Updates for locked profiles" in "Tools -> Options -> Defaults" will. Yes, but not the lock itself |

Separate lock for Other Features would be handy. That's a feature request though. If you like to fix your profiles to have Play all check box checked you still have to do it profile by profile and then lock Features. Then you don't have to worry about future updates. I can't understand what filtering locks have to do with this. Quote: I hope that is more clear about what I was trying to say. Partly, I understand your feature request about separating Features and Other Features lock, but still don't get why locks should be filtered. I'm not against it. I just don't get the point. |

| Posted: | | | | What Pete is describing is the following:
You have n fields that are covered by the same lock. Then Ken comes along and invents a new field, for example, a Feature checkbox for the "Play All" feature.
Now the armies of Mordor, erm, I mean Invelos are charging the online database, adding the Play All checkbox where appropriate.
But the Play All checkbox falls under the same Lock jurisdiction as all other Features. So if you have locked the Feature section, you will not get the new Play All update for the locked profiles.
It was the same when he invented the 2D / Color feature. If you had a lock on the Video Formats for whatever reason (e.g. you have a re-release with a different aspect ratio) then you will not get the 2D / Color update unless you give up your lock and lose your aspect ratio as well. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I don't know if I can make it much clearer... but let me try again.
If Ken adds a feature (any feature) and I have the features section locked... for any reason... I won't get the updates for the new feature on any of the profiles I have locked. So when a new feature is added to the features section...I would want to be able to see which profiles I have the features locked... since I won't get updates from online (without erasing the reason I locked the features box to start with)... if I could filter on the locks I would know the profiles to check and update myself without having to worry about something I changed and locked early being messed up.
Of course if the Other Features had it's own lock... I wouldn't have to worry about it 9 times out of 10.
I hope that helps? | | | Pete |

Thank You Karsten... Your example shows how even a separate lock for Other Features wouldn't really help in the big picture. But being able to filter on the locks in place would be helpful. | | | Pete |
