| Posted: | | | | I have the Panasonic DMP-BD 55 (I got it for Christmas, my brother did the picking out, he's pretty good with that stuff). I'm very happy with it.
I haven't used the bd live yet but I had an 8 gig sd card lying around that I put in it for that purpose. I may eventually pick up one of the 16 gigs. You can get the 8 gigs for about $16 and the 16 gigs for about $32 (USD)

| Posted: | | | | Thanks again for the help. My Sony receiver was a open box special and I paid like $80 for it 5+years ago. It was a store model.
I will look at 8+gb SDHC cards then. |

| Posted: | | | | Meritline is my blank media headquarters. Newegg is where I buy hardware but small stuff like a memory card they stick it to you with shipping.
I order 6 case fans for like $6 each and then paid $5 shipping for each even through they were in the same box. So I buy small stuff else where since that.
Amazon by the way shipped my Blu-Ray player tonight!! I am so excited now I need a Blu-Ray movie. I got to wait til next month to buy one. |

What it would require from other hardware for that to make a diffrence? Possibly only need a firmware update, but I am not sure how Panasonic handles those!!! | | | My Collection!!! |

| Posted: | | | | The Panasonic has an optical digital output. If your receiver can use that signal you should be fine (for 5.1). Modern AV receivers practically always do Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD nowadays, so that shouldn't be of much concern once you're ready to replace your old one. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks again for all that helped me decide on a player. I just got my Panasonic BD-60 and it was pretty easy to setup. I hooked up a 25 foot Ethernet cable to ir and updated the firmware flawless.
The hardest part was typing in my ID and password to access picsa and youtube. All I need now is a blu-ray disc but, normal DVD's look awesome. I don't have a link to Amazon onn demand yet which it said was coming to Viera cast in May.
So far I love it. I will see next month when I buy Band of Brothers. |

| Posted: | | | | Viera Cast is kind of fun for 5 mins but pretty useless. It would be awesome if they can work a deal with Hulu.com |
