| Posted: | | | | Bruce Campbell (1958):Original Contribution: Congo (097363303879) This is to differentiate him from the other actor, with the same name, who stared in one episode of 'Stargate SG-1', one episode of 'The New Outer Limits' and the film Double Jeopardy. I checked the Official Bruce Campbell website to make sure he did not star in those three projects. No BY found for other Bruce Campbell though he won't be making any other films because he is deceased. | Posted: | | | | Hello Unicus, this is a great idea. I was looking for this a while ago. I have a contribution accepted for Steve Harris: Steve Harris (1965) - Actor http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0004996/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Harris_%28actor%29 Steve Harris (1957) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Harris_%28musician%29 http://us.imdb.com/name/nm1064240/ Although, I just noticed there was a typing error in wikipedia. In the article on the right, under the picture, the birthyear is listed as 1957. Upon reading the article, it states 1956. And IMDB apparently also lists 1956. What is the best way to correct this typing error. Recontribute, and use what I mentioned here as source? Regards | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I'm not so much worried about Wikipedia. Only the fact that I contributed 1957 to the Invelos database when it should have been 1956. I just want to correct my mistake as soon as possible. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Correcting it would esentially create another entry for Steve Harris (1956). If you submitt the correction and get it approved, then PM Ken to have him remove the Steve Harris (1957) from the approved BY list. At least that's how I think you would do this. | | | Kevin |

Thanks for the tip. I just PM'ed Ken to see if he could update it in the database. Please let me know when/if this gets fixed. I will wait to add him until then. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. The Bill Bailey from the Superman movies was born in 1938. Source for 1938 birth year - Mr Bailey himself! I e-mailed him, and he was kind enough to reply: "My birth year was 1938. The confusion with the “other” Bill Bailey is because our union (Equity) was forced to drop its closed-shop clauses. However, I remain the Equity member with the acting name “Bill Bailey.” If you would like any further information, please either visit my website www.redbillbailey.com or write directly to me at this email address. I am also Bill-Bailey-the-writer." |

Skip How many times do I need to explain this? Yes we do!! If you have the same name in your database twice, one WITH birth year, and one WITHOUT, everything seems fine. That is, until you find yourself having to restore your database from a backup (if it's not caused by a major crash, just try and imagine the moment you've bought yourself a new computer). As soon as you do that, both entries will have merged back into one - let alone the confusing end results you'll get when there are three people with the same name involved like here: DVD Profiler is just going to merge the Steve Harris-without-birth-year with one of the others, but we don't even know which one! I have this happen to me already, and it took me the better part of a full day to get everything sorted out again. So yes, as long as this isn't fixed, we certainly DO need a birth year for the third, even if we know the other two. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

Skip Actually we do, IMHO. Otherwise, how would a user easily know which Steve Harris is which? | | | -- Enry |
