OK, I lied... that is one serious looking movie and I want to see it NOW!

Hehe.

Shouldn't the title be Aliens vs. Predators though?

Anyway, it's odd that I look somewhat forward to this considering that the first film by Paul "What Script?" Anderson is on my top ten most-hated list...

Actually, it should be "Alien vs Preditor".

The clip headline is "Aliens vs. Predator"!
But...I think it should be "Alien vs. Predator".

Nope, the title of the original comic was "Aliens versus Predator"

Ahh, I see, and 'stand corrected.'  Just thought poor ol' Predator got a rotten deal, title makes it seem like it's just one Predator versus a ton of Aliens.

The way the first one was billed, this is what I expected to see.

My thoughts exactly.  This is what I had hoped the first one was like.  My expectations for this new entry into the franchise (or should that be franchises?  ) has just been raised ten-fold.

So, for those who've seen it, what did you think?  After reading the reviews on it, I'm likely to wait for it to come out on the week rental from Blockbuster.

I loved it.  It is what the first one should have been.

It was 90 munites that I will never get back, I thought it was garbage, rent it, or wait until it hits the $5.00 bin at Wal Mart.

I read the review at DVDTalk which was very much in line with diva's comment...

I'll probably watch it anyway, but now with appropriately low expectations. (only starts playing in Taiwan this Friday)

Well, the must see part is accomplished -- what a ride!  Let's hope they don't sit on it too long before issuing the DVD.

I was not disappointed.  I give it an 8 out of 10 rating.  The casting was good (I enjoyed seeing the girl playing the NG officer-she was Michelle Dressler on '24' for 3 yrs), and throwing the innocent civilians into the mix was a nice plot point.

All in all, very enjoyable.  And given the ending, the possibilities of another sequel are excellent!

Achim, I quit listening to movie critcs (the paid pros) long ago, because most of them have some kind of agenda that colors everything they review.  If you want to go see something, do so, but don't prematurely set any expectations based on some dufous reviewer.  I've found, in fact, that most of the time when it gets a pan from the reviewers that I really like the movie.

I feel the same about professional critics Rifter but my doubt came from many Yahoo users rating it low.  No character development so you didn't care who lived or died and no alien vs predator action until the end of the movie for example.
