As SailorRipley said it, we are here for fun and our mutual passion for movies on DVD. ...and as others have said, I don't care how many contributions one has made, as long as they are correct. That used to be my position, but when I tried to argue it in the old Intervocative forum, I got my head bit off by... Skip (and others). So I accepted that all data that you actually submit must be correct and complete. That's why I'm surprised to find that Skip now argues to opposite. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. | Posted: | | | | When the data is incorrect, I vote no, and precise the reason. Not long ago, I voted on a change profile where the user said "corrected spelling mistakes in overview". After looking in overview, I seen 5 more spelling mistakes that could be corrected, so I voted no, saying what could be corrected more. My intent was to enable the user to make a correct contribution, correcting himself. He started the work, so I prefer to let him contribute than to vote a yes, and then make a contribution myself after with the corrected data, as some of you proposed. Finally, that contribution received more yes than no, and it was accepted. So, someone else had to correct again the overview. It doesn't bother me, it's the "game".
This is the same here, as the data is incorrect, a no vote is correct, with notes to enable Skip to do a better work. Resubmitting the same error because of "personnal choice" is a nonsense. You should have let the contribution process end, to know if it was accepted or not. |

Am I not allowed to reconsider my position? Am I supposed to publicly announce such a change when it occurs? If I am excuuuuuuuuse me, I didn't realize that was required, I acyually changed my opinion quite some time ago, after watching users not be equally demanding. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! Should Contributions Be Both Complete And Correct Or Just Correct?
Complete and Correct = Do it all. If you resubmit a field it must be complete and correct
Correct but Not Complete = As long as the change is correct, it should be approved
Other = explain in your post | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

It's clearly stated there, in boldface. I agree completely!!!!!!!! The rules are far too lengthy and complicated. | | | Dan |

Steve I think your racial slur is inappropriate and should be removed. | | | Dan |

Skip I never said you weren't allowed to reconsider. But given how vehemently you argued your position then, I was surprised to see you arguing the opposite. But if that's how you feel now, then you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I hope that I am entitled to be surprised. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |
