Hello all

I've decided to go ahead and buy a PDA just so I can use Profiler Mobile.

Do I have to buy Mobile (I'm already a premium registrant for Profiler)?

The reason I ask is that when I click the 'Buy' button it takes me to a logon screen...where I log in, of course...but, then nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is mobile free to premium registration owners?

Mobile is a seperate program which is paid for seperatly.  I'd send a PM to Ken to let him know the purchase page isn't working.

Have you tried a different browser?

Not ideal, but some sites fail to work properly if you're not using the browser they want.

Agree with DR K it's worth reporting to Ken as he can ask Paypal to sort out the fact he (and they) are losing revenue as their login screen isn't working

Thanks for the replies...I thought it was way too generous!!

I'm using Opera but I'll try it with Internet Explorer.

EDIT: I've just tried through IE and it works fine.

Thanks for the help.

Well, I've taken my first steps...

A. Downloaded Mobile...in preparation of the arrival of my Pda.

B. Bought PDA from Ebay....this is where I'm a complete novice; so hopefully I bought one that will do what I want (namely run Profiler mobile!). I opted for an HP Ipaq 2210 which comes with a free 1gig memory stick....all for £80. (I know that's really cheap...it's refurbished from someone with 100% positive feedback).

It should arrive early next week; after which I'll come back in and let people know how it's all working out....and, not doubt, to ask more questions.

Good luck and welcome to the mobile world.

You'll never be able to use the excuse of not knowing what you have when you buy those duplicates anymore!

Actually, Hal, my memory is excellent for that sort of thing. When I'm shopping I tend to forget if I've got a version of a film with DTS or 2 Disc...that sort of thing.

To be honest my real reason for going mobile is because of a recent change in storage.

I recently went 'boxless' with my dvd collection to save on space - everything is now in 5 metal DJ cases. Needless-to-say I use Profiler Location/Slot to keep track of which disc is in which box.
But, my computer isn't always on...so I designed a report that would print 4 profiles per A4 sheet with the basic details on and the location.
It's costing a fortune in ink and paper to keep printing out a report everytime I buy new stuff; so I finally decided that a PDA and Profiler Mobile would solve the problem by letting me have the information on a smaller device.

I also want to store a list of my music and books on it too for shopping (those I really can't remember!)

Phew...all that from 'Good Luck'....sorry, Hal!

It has a touch-screen display so it should suit your needs quite nicely.

I keep my "printed" inventory in order of purchase date with an alphabetic index (list only) which tells me physical location. The purchase date gets me close to where it is in my "book".

That way I only have to print (or re-print the last page and stick it in the book rather than reprinting the whole thing for every update.
