New: Headshot display for dubbing artists
New: DVD Profiler 2 Export

OK, I will try to implement it in time for the first official release.
As far as there at least one person who is using it, I am willing to spent the effort.
Would you be willing to beta test it? I don't have a way to verify, if the resulting export is valid.
For which software are you using it? Do you know if it would be able to handle UTF-8 XML encoding instead of US-Ascii that Profiler 2 used? US-ASCII just makes too much trouble. I had written my own converter in CCViewer 2 to be able to handle it. I would like to avoid it in CCViewer 3.

Thanks for the effort

Yes, I will try to check it tonight or tomorrow night (Paris time)
I use the generated file for 2 things, an old version of phpDVDprofiler (a custom one ) and I use several xslt to generate csv

I will make some run and compare the output, that's true that i have hard time with the encoding in the xml

Thanks again

New Version: 3.1.0
First non-Beta release! Official successor of Cinematic Collection Viewer 2.8

Main differences to v2.8:
New: Redesign (migration to .NET 4)
New: New logo designed by norbi_et_orbi
New: Charts/Graphs based on SQL queries (including build-in charts)
New: Scripting support to directly access and change data (don't hesitate to ask if you have a specific script request)
New: Unicode support (e.g. Asian characters are now supported)
New: Macros which are run on certain action (e.g. profile selected)
New: Proper boxset nesting
New: Grouping of collection list by first letter
New: Multiple skins can be shown at once in default view (previously only one at once could be shown in Profile Information window)
New: Progress shown in task bar (only in Windows 7 upwards)
New: Drag & Drop entries in award editor
New: DVD Profiler 3.8.1 support
New: Support of SQLite database format

Discontinued (currently no plan to support it):
- DVD Profiler 2 Import
- Headshots download
- change tracking via SVN
- Translation import/export as text file (currently only xml file supported)
- special ordering of collection list (by genres, etc.)

Still needs to be implemented:
- Command file support (low prio as there is now a scripting API)

I would like to thank my beta testers, especially Norbert (norbi_et_orbi), Mario (madacid) and Sidnei Novais!
Without your feedback I don't know if I would have had enough motivation to ever finish implementing a complete new version of Cinematic Collection Viewer.
Keep the feedback coming. This will not be the last version.

I installed version 3.1.1 but when I start it it crashes everytime. After the start-up screen there is a error that says CCV doesn't work anymore and has to be closed. Nothing more. Anybody knows what can be wrong?
I use windows vista. And version 2.8 is working fine!

Yes. This is a problem which seems to happen on some systems. For some reason the Microsoft Script Engine is not registered correctly anymore.
Please try the following:
Open a command shell as administrator ("Run as administrator") and go to the windows system folder:
cd /D C:\Windows\System32  (on 32 bit system)
or
cd /D C:\Windows\SysWOW64  (on 64 bit system)

and call
regsvr32 msscript.ocx

Just a little something I noticed:

CCV used to leave the video standard field empty when no value was specified (e.g. Blu-rays, which of course are neither PAL nor NTSC). Now however it seems to default to NTSC when no video standard is given.

Apart from that I'd once again like to express my appreciation for your great work, Tom.

I also noticed this recently but I was too lazy to fix it
But now that someone else also noticed it, I have fixed it. It will be included in the next release

@all: I have accumulated some minor changes now to warrant a 3.1.2 release. Is there something else, which has been noticed and you would liked to see fixed or added for this release?

One question: Is there anyone who is using or is planning to use the scripting window, or the scripting API?
I made some changes so that the API can be better utilized from COM. But if there isn't anyone benefiting from it, I will hold of with a new release until there are some more other changes warranting a new release.
